Uninstalling McAfee wiped out all my bookmarks and backups; can anything be done?
After uninstalling McAfee Anti-Virus and removing all McAfee files with uninstall, a number of disruptions were caused to things on my computer including all my Mozilla bookmarks and backups being removed. After my 30-day trial for McAfee Anti-Virus protection expired on my 30-day old Dell Laptop today (2/03/17), I decided to install the free version of Malware Bytes and uninstall McAfee. At the time when I uninstalled McAfee Anti-Virus, I also selected to uninstall the Web Protection McAfee app and selected to have all McAfee files removed as well. It appears that removing the McAfee Web Protection app somehow made all my Mozilla bookmarks and all my Mozilla bookmark backups disappear. When I started the uninstall process, I was of course given no warning that all my bookmarks and bookmark backups with my web browsers would be wiped out. Has anyone heard of this happening before, and if so, is there anything that can be done to get my bookmarks back? I'm guessing the answer is no but I thought I'd ask. I had never used McAfee before until recently and based on m y experience with McAfee so far I don't think I would ever want to use it again or recommend it to anyone else.

Hi, no haven't heard of that one before, but to try and fix it, first try restarting Firefox - 3-bar menu > Exit Firefox in bottom right corner.
If that doesn't help, and in case a Refresh has occurred, please look on your Desktop for a file named Old Firefox Data - Refresh Firefox - reset add-ons and settings.
If the file isn't there, you can try this: Open bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks > Import and Backup > Restore, and see if you have a backup there.
If not, please see -
