why are nodes being put on web sites that I view with fire fox but not other browsers

When viewing web page with fire fox someone is changing words and placing nodes on the site. This does not happen with chrome or explorer. When I inspect the element there is unauthorized html code over written on the site. I delete the node (an advertisement that reroutes the browser) but they pop back up.

You can check for recently installed suspicious or unknown extensions.

Do a malware check with several malware scanning programs on the Windows computer. Please scan with all programs because each program detects different malware. All these programs have free versions.

Make sure that you update each program to get the latest version of their databases before doing a scan.

You can also do a check for a rootkit infection with TDSSKiller.
