I have 2 computers and have Thunderbird on both. On one PC when I delete emails, they go into the Trash folder for that email account, but on the other PC, when I delete an email it goes into the Trash Folder under Local Folders. I must admit that I don't know the purpose of Local Folders, but that's beside the point. I just want deleted emails to go into the Trash folder for the email account in question. These are all POP email accounts.

Hello! In our company we use Thunderbird as main mail agent. And we use Yandex as main mail server, log in through OAuth2 protocol. After some recent Thunderbird update we got an issue. Somesing go wrong with redirecting inside the Thunderbird. At least that's what they said in Yandex. It won't log you in after click on "Log in as..." button. Instead it shows other screen of Yandex services (added image) got nothing in common with loggig in.

While I know emails can't disappear altogether in T/Bird - although they seem to - I can't understand what happens to them and how they are actually stored. For instance when I can't find an email in any of my in-box, trash, all mail, or important folders, I can do a search, find the email which the search tells me is in one of these folders and provides the date and time and where it is - but it isn't there! Can you advise me just how the email storage system works? Thanks

I have 3 IMAP email addresses in Thunderbird, 2 of which work perfectly, with Sent emails being stored in the relevant account's 'Sent' folder. The third, however, 'loses' its Sent emails somewhere between two 'Sent' folders in an additional "Local Folder" (which I neither asked for nor want) or disappears completely, leaving me with no record of the sent email! I have checked the box to "copy email to address>sent" (as I have done for all 3 accounts). I would really prefer to get rid of the 'Local Folder' group as I have no use for it, but how at least do I get TB to do the same basic housekeeping for all 3 accounts? I have the dreaded Windows 11 installed.

Hi there

I get the following error message when trying to setup my wife's email address on my Thunderbird account: Unable to log in at server, Probably wrong configuration, username or password

I have accepted the available configuration as shown by Thunderbird during the setup process, and have recently reset the password to ensure that is correct

Please would you advise how I may overcome this issue

Many thanks

Tbird blocks outgoing emails as spam. Error codes vary: one is ID 6408E1320400D02C, another is 6410bf9d02256542. This started today, and affects optonline and sbcglobal accounts, on a windows 7 and a windows xp computer. I've tried changing default port 465 to 587 and rebooting. It doesnt matter whether I have an attachment or not. Even a brief email sent from one of the email accounts to the other is sometimes blocked but if I send a brief email with a pdf I created myself it is consistently blocked.

The only antivirus program I have is malwarebytes. I disabled it through task manager - and that didnt help either. Version on my main office computer is 102.9.0 (32-bit).

I couldnt find anything really relevant online. I don't have a VPN. My settings havent changed in years and I've never had this problem before. Photo of SMTP settings is attached.

I hate to think what's going on with my computers at home.

PLEASE!!

I was having trouble with my Thunderbird folders and reinstalled the program. Now I cannot send emails. I receive emails, but I can't seem to find the correct email server address for Time Warner Cable (TWC) I have tried mail.twc.com smtp.twc.com and several others.

When I attempt to send an email, it just sits there trying.

Since some time - and I am a long time user - when I react to a message that someone sent me, the original message no longer has black characters but they are turned into blue. I have no idea why this happens and I have not changed anything in my preferences, so think it is part of an "upgrade" of Thunderbird. I'm not happy with it, because if I make a print of my answer - on a black and white laser printer - I cannot read the original message anymore. So I have to make a separate print of the original message after I printed my answer to it. I now have to make two prints and use more paper, where I normally had to make only one print. I looked around under preferences, but found no option to correct this new habit of Thunderbird. :-((. I hope there is someone who knows how I can turn this new thing off and maybe there is someone at Thunderbird who understands that this "new nice blue thing" is not a good upgrade as I now have to make a lot more prints than before. Thanks in advance!

I updated Thunderbird yesterday, and the program is a disaster now. Parts of toolbars are missing or are totally relocated. Functions are not working properly; e.g, I can't filter by field, and when I try to type in the filter field, the letters are not coming out correctly as I type them in. I can use tags, although the "tag" function is not properly located, but when I select a tag, the tag the color I assigned to it doesn't show when I go back to the inbox. I am using Windows 11 Home Version, which I updated right before the Thunderbird update; everything else is fine. Is there a way I can get back to the old version, and if so, will I have to wipe everything out and start over? The last time I did this there were numerous problems and I had to pay my computer guy close to $1000.00 to fix them; even then, some problems remained. Thank you!

I work with Ver.102.9.0 with 2 Inboxes. One bares my POP3 Server's name, the other with a Different name inherited from a previous Provider when I joined my current one. Each Inbox was named (say) 'MyOldAddress'.com and 'MyCurrentAddress.com' by my new Provider.

They automatically (I assumed?) stacked in alphabetical order (along with their normal subfolders) and then - because I wanted to have my 'Old' address folders at the top - I must have prefixed them 'A- OldAddress.com' and 'B- CurrentAddress.com', to have them placed in the order I wanted them to be. Probably soon after I installed Tbird and migrated my message history from Windows Live Mail I assume?

So might I now safely rename both (after backing up the Profiles) by deleting those additiional 'A-' and 'B-' pre-fixes without losing their sub-folders along with their archived message date history?
