I realized that when i use Quicsearch field for searching in message BODY, it works wrong. When i put to search field value 1084783026 it finds some messages, but when i delete one number (either from begin or end) , it does not find anything, even not than previous records . I got to some problems because of that... :-( With regards Martin

suddenly Thunderbird email stopped working. I keep getting a request to input and change my password and have done that several time. I also have gone through all the steps to ensure all the info was correct and connected properly. My email works fine when I login through the internet. Passwords are correct, connection info is correct. My emails work fine on my phone. I have uninstalled the program but it had no effect. I am using version: 102.0.2 (64-bit)

Everytime I install an update, I loose all the entries in my address book and all my archives files. I am currently at 91.11.0 (32-bit). This has happened for several months of updates.

Does Firefox save a backup copy of things like address book and archives? It so, where and what are the file names? How do I prevent future updates from removing import… (read more)

Emails arrive in table form and hyperlinks do not work

Since the upgrade from v.98 when I get an email, it appears as if it were a table, not in the usual format which displayed text with active hyperlinks. This only happens to mail in the inbox. If I move the email to another folder, for example, junk, the message reads as normal. If the message is filtered to junk automatically, it reads as normal.

This only happens with the inbox. Both newly downloaded or previous emails saved to another folder all read properly...UNLESS they are transferred to the in box in which case I get some form of table.

The following two images are 1. the message as received or transferred to the inbox and 2. the same message read from any other folder. (I was unable to add these images to this post for some reason, but I have continued the narration in the first answer below.

BTW, if I attempt to go to my previous version, which worked perfectly, I lose all my data.

Hi Thunderbird updated itself to 102.1(and now 102.1.1) and it lost 2 of my mailboxes or at least the inboxes. I have tried repair folder in the preferences for each inbox. The inboxes are greyed out. The location in the preferences, imap://driver_al%40*********@pcluster02.stablehost.com/INBOX, takes me now where or at least I can not find it. It is does not even seem like it is checking for new mail in those boxes.

I have a total of 11 mailboxes of mixed imap and pop. Only 2 seem to be effected both imap. I have looked in the profiles folder but do not seem to find them there as the folder names do not match the mailbox names..

With just 2 email addresses that I have been using for years, I suddenly get this Undeliverable message when attempting to send emails using Thunderbird:

"The mail client submitted this message with bare line feeds, which cannot be sent via SMTP protocol DATA command and receiving system does not support BDAT"

I can receive emails from the 2 addresses fine, I just can't send to them through Thunderbird. When I sign in to Hotmail Outlook Live I can send and receive to these addresses with no problem.

I'm stumped! Any ideas? Can I reset Thunderbird?

I want to talk with a Thunderbird agent for help. I'm not sure if this is the right way to communicate. Thank you for responding. I finally did get the help I needed when I returned home from travelling. A local business uses Thunderbird on a Mac like me. "Ionos", which hosts my website and web mail that goes to Thunderbird helped me on line to put in changes they require but that did not work for me. And I lost all my email except for the last week. Also mail wasn't coming into Thunderbird. It turns out my Avast had something to do with the muck up. It took 2 hrs. to solve the problem. My husband Uri Cogan passed on last Nov. He set me up with Thunderbird and took care of everything related to my computer. He was a volunteer helping here. Without him I am slowly learning what I can. I am finding out that most people don't really know anything outside their lane and any friend I asked was as clued out as I am.

I was told to reboot my system to complete a Thunderbird update.

After the system came up, my main email account wouldn't display. It was there when I went into account setting but wouldn't show. After closing an opening Tbird several times it showed up. now none pf my filters are running. In some cases it says the folder doesn't exist when it does! Most of the rules are missing actions!

What's up guys???

I'm migrating to a new computer and from Windows 10 to W11. I have successfully exported/imported the contacts using the export tool, but cannot figure out how to ex/im the calendar. I am using a SanDisk drive to move the files. Both systems have TBird 102.1.2 (64-bit).

Please give step-by-step instructions to do the calendar (only) ex/im. I do not use the Mail feature.

Message: Login to server outlook.office365.com with username xxxxxxx@xxxxxxx.com (my work email account set up thru GoDaddy) failed.

This is not my primary method for using my work email (Gmail's webmail interface is and, yes, still works fine). But every once in a while, I want to use the features of TBird that aren't possible with Gmail. So, I tried running TBird last weekend and got that message. So, first I tried signing in thru GoDaddy (O365 webmail) and used my existing password, and of course it worked fine. I then tried deleting the TBird account and adding it as new. TBird recognizes O365 accounts and I used those settings but, again, the password was rejected. So I went semi-nuclear and uninstalled TBird then reinstalled it. NO DIFFERENCE.

WHY is TBird rejecting my valid password - ESPECIALLY when it was working before?

Please pardon the raised voice all caps here and there - I'm really frustrated and don't understand what broke or how it broke and I can't fix it.

Until yesterday I could click on 'Inbox' and it would shows all emails from all 3 accounts I have set up. There was an update yesterday (102 1.2) Now although I can go to each email account individually, when I click on 'Inbox' it only shows emails for one account.

It also seems that search is also not functioning across accounts.

There is a context menu entry that enables message fetching for individual folders and an about:config setting for doing it for all folders. There is some speculation in a different question that this is necessary to avoid overloading servers.

Is this true and still appropriate? How can I as a user tell what I can set this to?

From a UX point of view it would definitely be better to just check all folders for new mail.
