I am trying to send an e-mail to an address I have sent before and get this message: Sending of the message failed. An error occurred while sending mail. The mail server responded: 28AIcTF2017255 This message has been blocked for containing SPAM-like characteristics.. Please check the message and try again.

I tried to set up TB email using autocomplete, to load up my existing tiscali email account, but this would not work. So I got the latest IMAP setting from the Talktalk website (Talktalk bought out Tiscali years ago) and entered those manually. I keep getting a message from TB saying that the "incoming server already exists" but the emails just don't load. Also there seems to be an issue with my password, The password works for accessing my tiscali / talktalk webmail but not for setting up this account.

Talktalk are about to switch over their email settings, so the old tiscali settings that i currently access my email with go obsolete from 30/9/22, and yet the new talktalk settings given on Talktalk's website don't seem to work either

I am using a HP pc, running Windows 10.

Any suggestions, please? I wan't to back up my email. I've already contacted Talktalk because their new settings aren't working for me. They are looking into it and had advised me to back up my email. The first stage in this is getting it up and working on TB, then, I hope copying it to a hard drive. At present struggling to set up on TB, never mind the backing up! Please advise what to do.

UPDATES 102.0 how frequent?

How often does 102.0 update? It appears to update every ten seconds by my estimation because every time I launch it updates before loading. I can close it and open it sec… (read more)

How often does 102.0 update? It appears to update every ten seconds by my estimation because every time I launch it updates before loading. I can close it and open it seconds later and it pauses to update again?

Is this some bug that it keeps updating no matter how many times a day I may open or close the program?

Should it just check and remain silent if there is no update?

I am going to turn off updates until I know why it does this. Never had this issue with prior versions.

いつも20年間もお世話になっております。

今回のトラブルは、ver:102.2.2 (64bits)にバージョンアップした時点 でログイン出来なくなり、パスワードの変更を求められました。

現在の状態は、次の通り順番に内容を連絡いたします。 1.プロバイダがYahoo!JAPANからパスワード変更しました。(XXX図) 2.その後にログインした処、ログインに失敗しましたとの表示(CCC&  DDD図)されました。 3.そこで、メールアドレスのセットアップ(BBB図)しました。 4.次に当ソフトからツール>設定>プライバシーとセキュリティ>パスワード>  保存されているパスワードを開いたら、何と送信メールのプロバイダが欠如  していました。(AAA図) 以上が現状です。9/10頃から発生していますので、早急に対処手順を当GMAIL に回答返信お願いします。

尚、パソコン2台-メールアドレス:win81web@ybb.ne.jpの環境は次の通りです。 1.NEC VN770RSR Windows8.1>10 Ver.21H2 bilts.19044.2006 (windows11-NO) 2.Dell Inspiron5570 Windows10 Ver.21H2 bilts.19044.2006 (windows11-OK)

Hi everyone, I am far from a proficient T-bird user so stick with me... My C. drive has a massive amount of space being used by T-bird, over 67Gb. My account is the only one on this machine and it is hosted with Inmotion Hosting. I've confirmed with them that they see me as an IMAP account and my settings are IMAP also locally. I did find under settings in Sync and storage a setting for 'Keep messages in all folders for this account on this computer'. The check mark is checked so it will be keeping all messages. Under Advanced (to choose which folders are 'kept' locally, there are options for all of my folders, some are back to 2014. My question is if I uncheck this box so that the files are not kept locally, will it for some reason expunge the files from the servers within Inmotion? My hesitation is due to talking to them about 14 months ago and I was given erroneous info on POP vs IMAP and subsequently some emails being lost on a corrupt PC. I'm a bit gun shy to execute the unchecking and then the delete of the huge local file.

File path is:: C:\Users\Practice Manager\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Profiles\kn769u8t.default-release\ImapMail\secure251.inmotionhosting.com

The secure251.inmotionhosting.com is the big pig with 65.4Gb.

Any insights and help would be greatly appreciated.

Can new folders be created in the 'root directory' or must they reside either within an account or a local folder?

Setting up a mailfence alias using the identity capability. Currently have two folders; me@mailfence.com and local as the initial configuration. Would like to create an equivalent directory structure myalias@ mailfence.com with subdirectories draft, sent, junk, etc. resides outside of both me@mailfence.com and local.

Looking for a native TB approach (if it exists),

I recently installed Ubuntu 22.04 and now the address book crashes when I attempt to use it to create an email; thunderbird freezes and give me the window stating 'not responding' and if want to force quit or wait. I end up having to force quit. But I use my address book's saved lists for a number of emails, and now this is not working. How can I fix it? I would need detailed steps, as I am not anything but a general user. Thanks.

I use Thunderbird since years. Non problem, I'm very happy with it. Two days ago I upgraded my PC to Windows 11, and when I send some emails from one of my three accounts, while copying it in the relevant folder, the shown windows is cut on the right, as per my attached snapshot. Small defect indeed, but... :-)

I was being nagged to update Thunderbird so did so via download & install as instructed (there was a message 'we will guide you through the update'). That did not happen but I installed 102.2.2 Everything seemed fine except the message pane in lower half of screen is now blank even when I click on an email in the list above. Have tried 'repair' but that had no effect. This is irritating, as the only way I can read my remails is to right click on one and select 'reply' or 'forward' ... it then appears as a new reply and I can see it. But in the upper pane that email rema\ins in bold, ie, unread. I am still getting reminders to upgrade even though 'About Thunderbird' indicates I have the latest version. Hope you can help with this!

In a world where respondent's often draft messages about a new subject by lazily replying to messages on an old subject, does anyone find Threading helpful? Why is it now the default.

After View/Sort by/Unthreaded then propagating that by "apply current view to all folders." All folders do in fact sort by unthreaded. But if I create a new subfolder it defaults to sort by threaded. Please, is there anyway to entirely disable Threading?

I am currently in the process of importing my emails to Thunderbird. I am unable to configure an account on Thunderbird via the IMAP method despite the correct SSL information being put in, I am constantly met with 'Unable to log in at server' (POP configuration was successful but I am only able to view the emails from my inbox, and can't view my other folders). Please may you advise further on this? Thank you.

THIS IS A VERY SERIOUS PROBLEM

Dear Sirs,

I have been a satisfied Thunderbird user for more than ten years, I have made a large one-time donation and I also make a monthly donation.

Since I had my hip replaced ten days ago it is difficult for me to get to my office upstairs so yesterday I wanted to transfer some accounts to my notebook that I otherwise use in Thunderbird on my stationary work computer.

On some website I read instructions for copying a "profile" from a desktop computer (Windows 7 Pro 32 bit) to a laptop (Windows 10 Pro 64 bit). I don't know what I did wrong: all the desired accounts (four of them) appeared on the laptop but they all ask for passwords all the time and don't save or remember them.

Out of sheer stupidity I also updated the stationary computer to version 102.3.3 and also updated the version of the Mozilla browser. The end result is that now even on a stationary computer Thunderbird asks for passwords all the time and does not save them.

I also tested the transfer while entering passwords a few dozen times and somehow managed to forward one email from the archive on two accounts.

Today I tried to install an old version of Thunderbird (38 and/or 52) on a desktop computer from your website but it downloads version 102 every time.

We have our own e-mail server in the company and my colleague reset my password (just in case) and I entered the new/temporary password in the mail on my mobile phone (Blackberry) which after the change normally receives and sends e-mails. Blackberry of course worked normally all the time even with the old password.

PLEASE - PLEASE let me know the solution because I really do NOT WANT to use any other email app.

Hi! I have a lot of IMAP mail account and want to store all relevant mails in an lokal account stored on an local folder. So I created an new local account and selected in the account settings at the option Message Store Type "File per folder (mbox) to store each folder in an separate folder an the local file system.

The Account Name: RS_Mailablage_Zentral Local Directory .....\RS-Mailablage_Zentral


Now I want to move/copy some mails from the IMAP-account to the new local account in an new created folder. But it doesn´t work either by drag & drop nor by using the the option "Move to" in the Message-menu. It doesn´t work in the troubleshoot mode.

In the local directory I found all the created folders from TB as directory foldername, as directory foldername.sbd and as file foldername.msf. You can find some screenshots at the uploaded pictures.

Please can you help me to find a solution.

I use TB version 91.13.0 (64-bit) on Windows 10 Home version 21H2

Just yesterday, I tried to download my latest email with "get messages" on my PC but got a message saying "error with account stanmalette" and "Sending of username did not succeed. Mail server pop.embarqmail.com responded: stanmalette is an invalid mailbox.Account name should be the fully qualified email address". I can still get my thunderbird email on my phone, but the PC seems locked as of 10/24/22. Should I set up the account again, or download Thunderbird again, and should I be pop or imap? I have been using Thunderbird for many years and this was unexpected and confusing. Stan
