You may have accidentally hit your scroll wheel instead of your right click button, which sends a scroll command to your mouse instead of the click command you thought you were sending. The fix is simple.

Either click the scroll wheel again and the circle changes back to an arrow, or, click the left button and the backwards conversion happens. BTW, I do this often, so not to worry if it happens again and again, and again and again..........

If that's not the cause, whatever your action was probably sent a signal to the computer to do something other than what you intended:

  • Do you have mouse gestures enabled?
  • When you thought you were updating, did TBird actually update, or did you have to repeat the process (i.e., 'something' got in the way of the first attempt)?

Best I can do for now, let me know what happens.
