The email composing window includes Write: in the title (before the actual email title). How can I remove this part from the title?

The space I have on my device is narrow where I can see the titles of the emails being composed and I would like to see only the email title in that location, without the "Write:" portion. Does anyone know how I can achieve this?

A very old HTML signature block with my former company name is occasionally applied to outgoing emails instead of the default specified in Thunderbird

How can I find and delete it?

FWIW, I went to Tools | Account and I find the current proper signature block is there. So I don't know where Thunderbird is dredging up the old signature block from.

I do have the Signature Switch plugin activated, but I've made sure that old signature block isn't in there.

Any help will be appreciated: this is embarrassing when it happens and I send the email without noticing the bad signature.

It would be great to have the option of, by default, having my emails composed as plain text/not HTML (which is my current setting), but when I forward an email, have it use HTML if the email was an HTML email. Currently, whenever I want to just forward an HTML formatted email without it then looking horrid, I have to go into settings, change my preferences so I can compose in HTML, forward the email, then go back to preferences and change it back to using plain text.

Hello,

I moved to Thunderbird because I can no longer receive gmail on Outlook.

When I receive e-mail from multiple accounts on Thunderbird, is there a way to organize the folders into one list?

As it is now, each account says the e-mail address, then an Inbox and Trash under it. I would like to have all those Inboxes (which I can rename) in one simple list.

I tried the Manually Sort Folders extension and that only sorts folders within an account, not across multiple accounts.

Thank you.

My text defaults to 'paragraph' giving me double spacing when I type several lines of type. When I switch over to 'body text' it doesn't stick. It reverts back automatically to 'paragraph'. I have opened preferences and turned off 'paragraph', but again it just reverts back to 'paragraph'

Please advise. Thanks, Clive Smith.

How to change default outgoing message font in Thunderbird for Windows?

I am normally a Mac user, where Thunderbird already defaults to my preferred Arial font for outgoing messages. Now I am setting up a Windows 10 install for a class I need to take, and Thunderbird insists on using Times New Roman as my font for all outgoing messages.

I found the setting for "default font" under Preferences, but I am not sure what its purpose is. First, the default was set to Cambria, which was not the font displayed for anything in the app. I tried changing it to Arial and it did absolutely nothing. My incoming messages still appear how they should, in the typical Arial font specified by the sender, but when I reply, I have to manually set the font each time if I want it anything other than Times New Roman. I looked at the Advanced setting, but they made no sense to me, and Times New Roman was NOT one of the fonts selected for any of the settings.

So how do I set the default outgoing message font to something other than Times New Roman? Is there a reason Mozilla does not use the same defaults across Mac and Windows versions? Why does this have to be so complicated?

Thanks for any help, this is really annoying.

I need to change the font size for Thunderbird inbox etc. I've got TB Version 91.4.1 (64 bit) running on Win 10.

I found messages about how to do it for version 78, but they no longer apply. Tools now has Preferences instead of "Options" and "Advanced" has font control that work within emails, but have no effect on the Inbox and such.

As noted in the emails for version 78, this seems to be a recurring issue where Inbox font size is controlled by a hidden mechanism different from the easily accessed control used for text within emails.

Would appreciate someone with deeper knowledge letting me, and I assume others, know how to change Inbox font size.

We have moved over to M365 and we have issues with the Undo function both keybind and coded function in Thunderbird. Outlook it works just fine, but in Thunderbird it seems to not work and the function is just greyed out.

Scenario: Moves the mail from Folder Inbox to Folder Courier, but realize that it needs to be in Folder Content, so wish to move it back with Ctrl + Z or the Undo function in the Edit tab. Function doesn't work.

Is this how it is because of server syncing, or is there something we can do as permission to our employees?

Thank you in advance.

How do you prevent Thunderbird from applying the colour of your Message Tags to your compose/reply window?

This is borderline unusable for me. I have several emails and I apply a message tag to each one with a unique colour so that I can tell which email is from which email address from within my unified inbox simply by looking at its colour. However, as an apparent side effect, doing so applies the tag's colour to the compose window when I write a new email or reply to an email.

Some pictures are bellow. In order, the green, blue and yellow tags produce compose windows with a green background and white text, blue background and white text, and RED background with white text (not yellow, but red, I don't understand this).

All I want is for the compose windows to not change colour at all. I want to set a single colour scheme, and stick to it. Dark grey background, white text.

I tried going into "Fonts & Colours", clicking on the "Colours" button, setting a colour for the Text and Background, and then under "Override the colours specified by the content with my selections above:", I selected "Always", but that changes the theme of my entire thunderbird based on those colours, including the preferences window. I JUST want the compose window to be this colour.

Any help is appreciated!
