I have used Thunderbird for years and I use it for work. For the last two days, it has started to go slow, and it will freeze and I have to close out of it. This JUST started, and this morning it is almost not functional.
I have looked everywhere I could find to see what I can do and I cannot find anything. I even tried re-installing it.
What can I do?

I searched and I know others have had this issue as well but so far, none of the solutions that I've found have fixed it. This just started happening yesterday randomly in the middle of my work day, NOTHING had changed! One minute, I could receive emails and then next, this error started to appear: Unable to write the email to the mailbox. Make sure the file system allows you write privileges, and you have enough disk space to copy the mailbox.
I can still GET EMAILS ON MY IPHONE and can STILL SEND EMAIL via Thunderbid - I just cannot RECEIVE EMAILS IN THUNBDERBIRD ANYMORE!
Any solutions? It's really a pain to have clients emailing me and have to check and respond to those on my phone.

Recent update switched all folder to show messages grouped into threads. This makes it harder to find new messages. As a result I did not see an email inviting me to a job interview for 2 months. Far too late to act on it.
Updates should NOT change any configuration settings. This is NOT acceptable.
Also, I have a lot of folders. There seems to be no way to set them all to unthreaded all at once. So now, I have to go through them one by one changing them back to the way it was.
I needed that job desperately and now I'm screwed. If I don't find a job in the next couple of weeks, I could be homeless.
The irony is that I have over 35 years of experience writing software but I can't find a job because of age discrimination.

Hi, I'm having a problem with my email. It comes to me through my website Bradfraser.net, and is hosted by Viux. Apparently Viux went out of business a while ago and didn't tell anyone. My email stopped arriving at bradfraser@bradfraser.net two weeks ago and all attempts to rectify this have been stymied by my not having my dashboard info for the site, and I am unable to get it from Viux. (Which seems to have a bot answering questions.) Is there any way you can help me access this email account and get it running again? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I did not find this exact question after looking through multiple pages. I have two email accounts, that is easy enough I followed the directions online, and almost had this set up.. But then I realized I did not know how this would work. I want/need the two to be kept separate. In other words I don't need the first email displayed be from my personal account, and the second from my junk account, the third fourth and fifth from personal, etc....Ok, just hit me, I need them under separate tabs, that's what I've been trying to think of.
Is that how it will automatically be set up, or can I even get it to do that? If so how?

I have been using Thunderbird for many years, and really like it - until two recent updates (sorry!). I am running Ubuntu 22.04, and Thunderbird 115.4.1. One now has a column taken on the left which is unnecessary, and a section at the top which is above the menus with e.g. File... but I would like my File menu at the top, as it used to be. The second issue is more frustrating - the search facility, where one can find the emails being sought, allows me to search by many options, and I was able to display the results sorted by subject, size or my normal was by date, but I never use the message threads as that is rarely of interest, and I can sort on that using the message subject if needed. Now, when I search the results are ONLY in the message threads, and if I try to sort by date, I lose all information, and the ONLY option is to see the messages by thread which is no use to me! How can I restore good old Thunderbird - the version I enjoy using (or have the functionality I had restored)?! Many thanks,

I am trying to add a MS365 mail account to Thunderbird 115.4.2 and keep getting a mail fail message, telling me the login failed, I am receiving mail into this mailbox without issue but sending doesn't work. I get an error message with 3 options, retry, enter a new password or cancel. Enter new password doesn't work.
I have set up , as far as I can tell, correctly, the password on the account works for incoming mail. The default smtp server for this mailbox is correct: smtp.office.365.com, port 587, STARTTLS, Oauth2 and my correct mail address for this account. Any thoughts as to what I am not doing?

I work with my tabs a lot. When I open an attachment, Thunderbird opens a new tab and buts the content of the attachment (pdf) into a new tab. Often I need to save my work and stop working that day, and just let my computer go into sleep mode with Thunderbird still open in windows. In the previous versions, I could just start working the next day, and all my tabs are populated with the attachments and information I left open the day before. With this new update 115.4.2 (32-bit) it does not retain any of the information in any of the tabs that were previously left open. It only happens when the computer has been sleeping overnight or for an extended period of time. If I put the computer to sleep and then wake it up pretty quickly it keeps the tabs just fine. Very frustrating

I am trying to set up MailerLite for my website email list. Whenever I send the verification email from MailerLite, it doesn't reach my inbox for my custom domain email (hosted on Thunderbird). I've sent emails from MailerLite to other emails, no problem. I've sent emails to my inbox, no problem. Do you have any suggestions for why MailerLite isn't communicating with my custom domain email?
