"Print" no longer works from a message edit ("Write") window

In Thunderbird 91.8.0 (64-bit) on Mac-OS Monterey M1

I often will "Edit Message as New" in order to print an email message with no headers.

Now when in a Message Edit window, the "print" command does nothing.

Also the "Print" icon, available on the edit window toolbar, does nothing.

I have updated & restarted T-Bird, and restarted my Mac. Not sure when the problem started.

Is there a preference that should be enabled?

EDIT: Found the problem -- I had set, using Config Editor (in preferences at the very bottom), the setting for [print.tab_modal.enabled] to FALSE in order to stop the PITA custom Print Dialog that Thunderbird uses, and get the default back to the system dialog... but setting this to FALSE also disables any Print function for the edit window. Argh!

Come on Mozilla. Please allow the System Print Dialog to be set to default!!! No need to play God anymore.

Problem Solved. I just wanted to say thanks to whomever corrected the inbox anomaly for Thunderbird. Limited knowledge of these things had me locating my new mail only after I had gone to drafts (or elsewhere as I later found out). So I did not fully understand the specific problem. Only as I started a mail clean-up did I notice the new email downloads at the wrong end of my stack. Then within a few days a new update arrived with the correction AND ALL IS WELL --- THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU! Darryl

I would like to hide the "Switch to the calendar tab" and "Switch to the tasks tab" toolbar buttons that appear in the Thunderbird 91 top bar (title bar?).

I've tried the methods suggested for prior Thunderbird versions that employ userChrome.css, and they do not work.

Is it possible to hide these toolbar items?

Running 91.9.1, W10. At about noon today I stopped receiving all emails from multiple providers. I have done no updates. Selecting any account results in the looping timer. The mail is available at gmail and aol as well as on my iphone. I've restarted Thunderbird to no avail. All network settings look good. I am running windows defender. As stated I have changed nothing on the PC.

To whom it may concern: I use Linux Mint as my primary OS and Thunderbird as my primary email client. I am going back to graduate school and the university email address uses two factor authentication. I can't seem to add my university email to Thunderbird because it won't accept two factor authentication. Did I miss a step or an add on?

Except for very basic colors which I can type in (ie, Blue, Red, Yellow, Green) the color selection from the color palettes does not transfer over to the color box that assigns color to the object selected. Could show it easily with a video but can't upload. See images, I guess. The color comes up when I type basic colors in, but I cannot select any colors from the palettes on the right except the crayon palette that features basic colors. Anybody know what the heck is going on???

Latest TB update destroyed v.68.5.0 (32buit) capability requiring backup-recovery to resolve.

Turned off auto update because latest TB update literally created whole new startup, etc. Had to use backup recovery to get back to v.68.5.0 (32bit). Ironically I was about to proclaim how great Tb has been when this happened this morning and ruined my day adding stress and anxiety which an 82 yr old doesn't need. Is new MZLA Tech going to become another MS like update threat? TB update followed almost immediately after MS's latest--is there a correlation? Been a long time since I've had any problem with any TB update, but now as mentioned, turned off auto update until I an feel confident once again. Why do these irresponsible updates happen? Is there no quality control any more? Does anyone think about user's efforts being destroyed by these disasters? Would appreciate some direct feedback (Angelsdtp@usa.net) please.

The rev 68.8 Thunderbird upgrade stops being able to read the existing profile, usually within 24 hours. (Windows 10, no custom profile. no custom anything). I get the pop-up box complaining about trying to read an old profile.

I can re-install Thunderbird, and then it works fine. And within another 24 hours, it stops working again.

Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.

My next step is to completely remove Thunderbird (and all profiles), reboot, and reinstall from scratch. Um, have to back up local folders. Painful.

Hi _ I love Thunderbird!! But I'm finding if I delete a message from my iphone ( which I need to do as it gets too full) then the message is deleting from my PC as well-- so I have deleted a whole load of important stuff thinking it was safe in my PC.. how can I stop this happening - the iphone also deletes from the server even though I have said never delete from server in settings - and I have disabled icloud as well.

I am lost, at this point. I asked why my E-mails were re-duplicated when I downloaded the new Thurderbird version. I got a reply from Matt who said he had never had such a problem but to send him a screenshot of Troubleshooting information. It took a week, as I was distracted, but when I tried to send the screenshot, this reply function told me it was too many characters, so it wouldn't send. What do I do, now? Further, he sent a link to a program to fix the problem of the duplicate E-mails, but when I try to open it, it says it cannot open (I have tired downloading it more than once) because it is unsupported or has been damaged. This is a nightmare, everything I try is a dead end. Can anyone help?

Dear community, I am using Mozilla Thunderbird 68.9.0 but I also had the same problem with other previous versions. I use it with some gmail accounts and I have a problem with text alignment.

If I write a single sentence on a line, once the email is sent the sentence can be splitted into more lines.

Something like: "My name is Luca and I like Mozilla Thunderbird even if there is a problem with text alignment"

becomes

"My name is Luca and I like Mozilla Thunderbird even if there is a problem with text alignment"

Inside Thunderbird this line break is not shown, but the receivers see it and I can see it with webmail, so I send emails that appears strange in alignment.

How can I fix this?

Thunderbird has started replacing the From address on all emails with a new account that was added last week. Since this issue arose I've removed the new account from Thunderbird and it is still using the account that no longer exists as the From address. Sending email via gmail.com works perfectly fine so this is definitely an issue in Thunderbird only. I've also made sure that the SMTP settings in Thunderbird are correct for each account.

Has anyone seen it do this before and have an idea of how to resolve?
