I've been upgraded to 115, like it or not, and now my list of viewed email titles will only shorten to 10 emails instead of the previous 4, which leaves very little room to view an opened email. IOW, the double arrow will only let me raise the bottom boundary to be below a list of 10 emails. How can I shorten it back to 4??

Is there a way to add a delete button to the top row of each message in the Message Display List?

I've added a screen shot to show where I'm referring to.

Often when browsing the list of messages, rather than moving the mouse across the screen to the delete button in the message, it would be more productive to simply click a delete button in the Message Display List.

I have really enjoyed the new release (115.4.1) interface, but I have a problem because my Add-On/Extension to manually sort my email accounts ("Manually Sort Folders") is no longer working. I just added another work email and it is now trapped at the bottom of my left-hand account list below my Local Folders and Blog Accounts. This is NOT going to work. As many times as I've seen this mentioned on forums everywhere, there HAS to be the ability to manually sort your email accounts to show up in the order you want them to by now. No?

BTW, going to "Account Settings" and dragging and dropping an email account where I want it in the list does NOT work. It shows up as it is right now without change. Restarting the program directly after making this change with or without going back to the main accounts tab does not result in it showing up correctly either.

When Thunderbird opens, the message area is always positioned somewhere back during 2018 or 2019 messages, regardless of whether there is a new message pending. This happens with both Inbox and Sent Items. I have tried re-sorting by date, but next time Thunderbird opens the same thing happens.

This has been occurring for only about 1-2 months. Prior to that, Thunderbird would do what it always did and would open up by showing the new email for say 02-Nov-2023 in bold at the bottom of the message area. But now I have to manually scroll the message area from 2018 all the way down through 2019-2020-2012-2022 to 2023 in order to see the new message at the bottom.

Is there some setting somewhere which controls this, which I can adjust? What action do I need to take to fix this?

Recently my Inbox view keeps resetting View to Sort/Threaded - I can reset to Unthreaded but at some point it switches back. I think it might happen after I have been using search function where lots of emails can be displayed but Im not sure. Also it affects my wife's separate inbox even when I have only searched my own....any solution please ?

SHORT VERSION: Is it possible to make hunderbird show me, in the main window, that there is a tagged email ALSO inside a subfolder? EXPLANATION I am trying to be tidy and organised in my work emails with Thunderbird ;) Therefore I BOTH divide emails in subfolders AND flag the emails I have to postprocess but I don't have time right when I receive them. BUT I STILL HAVE TO POSTPROCESS THEM!!! However, if a flagged email is in a subfolder, Thunderbird doesn't show me that is flagged. In other words, if I want to see if there are unprocessed emails, I would have to enter each subfolder (which I don't do - so I don't postprocess the email! (angel) )

I was wondering if it is possible to make the open folder of emails on the right and then the view of the emails on the right? I have it set up on "Vertical" layout and would like all of the messages to be on the right hand side of the screen, but the view of the message in the middle between "all folders" and the open message

Seeking tutorials on the rules necessary to create good looking tables in an email. such as: Can Cells be selected and combined (like in a spreadsheet) Where are any good tutorials about creating tables, etc.

I recently updated to 115.4.1 and now any emails that are multiple responses shows up in my inbox with a > beside it. When I try to open the email, it opens multiple windows, each with one of the emails in the chain. How do I get back to only opening one at a time and getting rid of the >?

I import my local folders from my NAS unit, My Documents/mail.

The folder headings are all there, but there is no content when I click on the headings?

This does not happen in the windows 10 version?

When I right click on the menu bar and choose "customize" there is a "button style" selection at the bottom of the page where one can choose to display "icons beside text", "icons above text", "icons only" or "text only" but regardless of what option I select, I only get text. I believe it was was working properly when I first updated to 115.4.1 but then quit.

I've tried uninstalling and re-installing Thunderbird to no avail. How can I get it working properly?

I see a lot of questions about the missing tag and write buttons, but I don't see any answers. I have the same questions. Where did they go? How to get them back. How do I "reply" to an email. I wish I had not updated. It definitely did not get better.

I'm missing the the possibility to delete Messages on one of my clients and leave it on the server. I'm using Thunderbird on my desktop, mostly to save my important emails. Therefore I have installed some filters to delete unimportant mails like newsletter, noreplay@... e.g... Unfortunately I'm not able to read these mails even more on my other client like my mobile. In an older version of Thunderbird was a checkbox for "leave it on the server".. in the latest version this box is gone. Who can help me?

I would like to change the font size of the entries in my Messages pane. Changing it with View>Font Size changes everything, and this uses way too much space in the Folder and Message Detail panes. If you compare the defaults prior to the latest update to what 115.4.1 has you will see what I mean. Tried to find something in ConfigEditor but didn't see anything. Thanks

Can you set up an email address to receive only/block sending from it? I have two addresses defined in Thunderbird and if I don't check, it occasionally picks up the one I don't want to send from.

I have the latest TB 115.4.1 - OSX I select multiple messages in my inbox and hit delete key, only one message is deleted. not the others Same with the contextual menu > Delete selected message

Only ONE message is moved to trash
