Thunderbird changed screen view today, and it is a total disaster. Command links are a tiny unrecognizable icons. Is this a bad joke making our lives difficult, or perhaps you want us to leave Thunderbird and search for another email program?!

I tried to customize, but it did not fix anything. If the old well functioning version is no longer available, I will move to another email program.

Really disappointed

Well, either I get to roll back to the old UI, or the pre-Supernova Tbird, or I'm done with Tbird and done donating. This update is absolute shite and not being warned of the changes it would make was really, really shitty.

So how do I roll back, oh geniuses who developed this new shite Tbird?

Hi,

I am a longtime Thunderbird user. I have 3 email accounts that I check via Thunderbird. I am having issues on just one of those accounts since the 115 Supernova update. I see the message "checking inbox for new messages" but they are not downloading. I have ATT email through Yahoo, and I can log into Yahoo Mail (webmail) and see the messages there ... they suddenly are just not downloading to Thunderbird.

I have tried:

compacting folders Thunderbird safe mode Windows safe mode with networking turning my antivirus off temporarily moving all emails in that account Inbox to a backup folder

I'm frustrated and need to download mail - can you please help me?! Thanks!

Thunderbird crashes regularly. I have determined that it might be due to RAM. When Quickbooks is open, Thunderbird will crash almost all the time. If I close QB, it is fine. I have an HP desktop w/ 8GB ram. What I don't understand is that it started doing this recently, but never used to crash. Is TB using more ram now since the latest releases? Any insight would be appreciated.

After updating thunderbird a little week ago maybe - the program began to shut down suddenly - several times. But yesterday there was no acces to mails, folders.. just an almost blank screen. Only the 'headers' are visibly - you know: 'Files', 'Edit' etc. is visbly. When the program did shut down, I did not get a crash-report. It was also in a strange way, because, I could see, that TB was open, but when I did try to acces it, nothing showed up. I could only restart the computer to get access to it again. But... yesterday everything was, as I have showed in the picture. I can't see any of my mails - and actually I have 10 different accounts/profiles, so it's a big problem for me, that all old mails is gone - and the new one too... Fortunately all my incoming mails are redirectet to a backup mailadress - if I had not done that years ago, I would be really f....

I have tried to open in troubles... mode - does not help....

I tried to unplug and replug the pc - no difference. I have tried to reinstall TB - now several times - no difference... The problems began with an update - I wish I could downgrade to a version, that works well... But I haven't kept the older version...

I'm an old Danish women with very little knowledge of reading and understanding complicated possible solutions - but I know how to install a program, so where can I find an older version to install, so that I can read and write an email again?

Now I have to use and old gmail-account and not my usual accounts.

I'm so sad...

BTW: it's version 115.5.2 (64-bit) - and my pc is running Windows 11

I have asked in some forums too with no luck.

Who wants to join me in an accessibility law suit against Mozilla and Thunderbird? The latest version of TBird is unusable.

Put the Menu bar back at the top. Allow us to globally turn off 'sort treads into conversations' and make it the default. This is not a texting app. Stop forcing changes on us. We don't want them.

Fix the tool bar and Search Bar so it works like it did for the previous decade.

Do the developers track crap from the sidewalk into their offices by Fisherman's Warf so they think crap is the new form of coding. Just code Thunderbird into a pile of crap.

Mozilla et al only gives lip service to accessibility.

Ever since the past year on the various supernova releases the performance has turned to crap. Very slow, no multitasking performance. I have several e-mail accounts, when downloading from Gmail, my other accounts are non responsive.

And the biggy I cannot select and delete multiple messages. Even a few dozen in spam folder and I get " Not Responding".

The product is wrecked. I never had this much difficulty before. Please own up to the problem and fix it.

Server Synchronization Challenge

I have Thunderbird as my client on my primary home workstation as well as my traveling laptop. Each instance is configured exactly the same with regards to the four servers I use: Earthlink, GMail, Outlook and GMX. Each of those server/services is also identically configured with regards to these Server Settings: Leave Messages on the Server Until I Delete Them.

Each of the servers -- except GMail -- has the same behavior with regards to how it handles things when I click on the option to Get Messages, i.e., each server seems to be able to identify which of the clients has and which of the clients has not previously been served up with a newly arrived email. It will not send the same email to the same client more than once.

GMail is the exception. There I get what seems to be a first-come-first-served protocol. If I perform Get Messages on the laptop, I will get the email, but will not be able to get the email when I subsequently make the request from the workstation's Thunderbird instance. [Or, if the first request is made from the workstation instance, the laptop instance will never get the email.]

I realize that my usage pattern is rather unique, so it may well be that no one else has ever experienced this behavior, but if anyone has -- with regards to any email server, not just GMail -- and knows a work-around, I would appreciate the instruction.

And, in anticipation of one line of questioning, when I say that all four server/services are configured the same, I am indicating that I do work with GMail as a POP3 server, not IMAP. All my email content ultimately resides on my own hardware resources and is only temporarily resident on hardware provided by the server/service entity.

P.S. Please pardon my mistake in initially, mistakenly posting this request to the Firefox community.

Hello, I've written to You in below topic: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1435807

We've fixed it just as You've instructed us.

But we've still got problem with sending and saving emails. Some messages (not always, just in some periods of time), are not sent and not saved in sent messages. We've had this problem yesterday and now I don't know what has been sent and which were not.

Waiting for your reply. Best regards
