Firefox for Android Support Forum

I just downloaded firefox nightly for the sole purpose of being able to use the about:config editor. My question is, how can I disable the blue dots in both the screenshots attached? I find it annoying to be bothered when any application notify me that an update has been installed. Where in about:config should I search to disable this behavior?

Is there a way to allow popups as a whole or from specific sites? Some support chats open in a separate window as a popup and I cannot view them. I have to use a different browser in that situation and I would rather stick to Firefox

When I search for places and where to go it take me to a navigation app I don't have so I have to get out type in the address on Google maps to get where I'm going

I want to see all web pages in desktop view, without having to change the setting for each page I go to. This is an option in other popular browsers. Why not this one?

And please don't tell me why mobile view is better or why I don't really need the feature I'm asking for. I know what I want. And I know exactly why I want it. And I know I'm not the only one who wants it. in July 2021 someone asked for the same thing and Paul replied, "This is something that we are currently working on and hope to include in a future update very soon (it is currently in our Nightly version while it is being tested)." A year and a half later, it's still not available, including (as far as I can see) in the Nightly version. Yet in both instances of this feature being requested, the topic is marked "Solved" and archived. I guess the "solution" is to ignore what users want and force us to use the product in the way you think we should. Very Apple/Google of you!

Between this, no ability to export bookmarks from mobile, and very limited extension support, I'm finding myself ready to give a very bad rating in the play store and switch to another browser.

Please, please, please... bring back the pre v. 100 ability to not remember History, and to completely Close Apps when closing Firefox!!!

I have to go into Android Settings/Apps/Firefox/Storage/cache and delete all, because Firefox freezes now at each use, as it is suddenly remembering every site opened, despite my checking the boxes not to remember sites upon closing, as many sites are opened accidentally, triggered by being the default browser. Deleting app data in Android Settings, every time it opens, now is only thing that fixes when Firefox is unresponsive.

I really miss the pre 100 versions, when Firefox was dependable, fast, and lean in data use. And tried all the other new versions, but they all have the same site cookies or data hoarding problem. That is a very data heavy way to be fast, that leads to a lot of crashes where internet infrastructure is minimal.

Hi. first of all, your android app is awesome. That you can listen to videos or YT videos when the app is minimalized or the phone screen is locked is great feature. BUT I am not used to it and I would prefer to change the settings so when I lock the screen the video automatically pauses and does not keep playing....

Any way to achieve that??? Thanks !

When I have "Open links in apps" turned on, for some reason all links to xda-developers.com URLs are directed to the Nextcloud app — which obviously doesn't know what to do with them.

I enjoy the "open in app" feature but this is frustrating. I checked in the app information settings that the Nextcloud app doesn't open any URLs by default, and certainly not specific to xda-dev...?

Hi, I'm running ... Firefox 120.0? On a US Samsung Galaxy S22 running Android 14 and One UI 6.0.

Korean characters used to display in a uniform font but after a recent phone update, I now get different fonts (with greatly decreased readability). I can't find any font options in the Firefox app and the only thing language-related is what language Firefox menus are in. I also can't find any relevant font options in the phone settings either - can someone help?

For the love of God allow Android users to disable this unending torrent of push notification requests for *all* websites!

You have it for the desktop, you could disable it in about:config if you hadn't also disabled that for Android users. Please fix.

...Desktop site option setting does not stick! After switching tabs for 5 mins, it changes back to mobile site view & I HAVE TO X out of tab, reopen it, & check desktop site again! You can't just reset the desktop site option on & off either, doesn't work. You MUST X out the tab & start all over. ...It's a real pia! In older versions it always worked, always defaulted even days later! However, NOT in the last few versions, why can't it still currently work now? It should! ...And god for bid you find any real support! And probably won't get it here either. ...."IS" there ANY real, live support around here? A developer email? Anything??? I'm trying to disable my history from grouping related terms together, but there isn't an option under the Tabs setting for the version I have. I cannot update Firefox through Google Play so I'm pretty sure I have the latest version (10.0.1). Is there a fix for this?

I'm following the instructions to set Firefox nightly as my default browser, but when I go to settings and try to switch the toggle to "set as default browser" instead of doing it, it just opens a new tab with the instruction. I got up to 4 identical tabs before I gave up. I know how to do it, it's just malfunctioning.

In a separate issue, I have had Firefox Beta for about a year on my Kindle Fire, always worked great. Since the latest update, it won't even open. The screen pops up for a second, then immediately closes. I uninstalled and reinstalled, same issue. I installed regular Firefox, no issue. Then I found nightly, installed with no issue (other than the problem listed above).

Please allow force-enabling of the "Open in App" button on all domains.

The cause of my asking this is that YouTube no longer has this option. Presumably because they explicitly disallowed this. I want my end-user control over this back. To note, reddit still has this option.

So my request is to add a toggle to force this button to appear on all domains, if at all possible.
