Hi, I'm using Windows 10 and no malware or anything detected by my primary AV, bitdefender. I also tried with AVG but same results. Website works normally for about 5 seconds and then automatically redirect to http://www1.cdnsure.com/?tm=1&subid4=XXXXXXXXXXX=CDN%20Network&KW2=CDN%20Performance%20Monitoring&KW3=CDN%20Video%20Streaming&searchbox=0&domainname=0&backfill=0
(XXXXX are random numbers. I just replaced just to make sure nothing personal is there.)
Chrome, Edge and others works normally. Tried skip redirect extension, but no use. Tried VPN, tunneling, but same results. I don't care much about security. So if there is a way to stop redirecting part, please help.

Firefox package was installed on Ubuntu through 'APT', using the Mozilla Team repository (https://ppa.launchpadcontent.net/mozillateam/ppa/ubuntu/). It caught my attention that an excessive amount of Firefox related 'DENIED' AppArmor log messages is generated during the browser activity.
According to messages, Firefox is occasionally denied read access to '/sys/devices/' area and read/write access to 'oom_score_adj' target in '/proc/'. Could somebody clarify why would that access be required for regular browser operations? I'm a bit puzzled as I haven't noticed anything similar with the older Ubuntu and Firefox versions. A complete suppression of those messages is also an option as long as there's no negative impact on application's performance.
I already posted this question to Ubuntu forum but seems like nobody there could provide an explanation. I'd appreciate any input or hint.
Following is the sample of referred log messages:

I've been using Firefox browser for over a decade to do university business (e.g., submit grades, internal proposal review processing and approval, etc.). But since December, I am having catastrophic failures. Sometimes with an error message, sometimes just getting no response at all when submitting information in a browser-based university application. And yet, I can complete those functions when I immediately go to Chrome (once I remember that that might be a problem). I really don't want to use Chrome. Is there a change in Firefox (including something which I can change some settings in my browser to counteract), or a change in our university's software making Firefox incompatible? One returned error today was "Request Header Fields Too Large. The server refused this request because the request header fields are too large." [PS, I had to type this all over when I tried to share data with you about my system -- I had to click on "troubleshoot" information, which lost all the data I had previously entered... Sigh....]

Youtube videos work, although they do give errors sometimes. A refresh always fixes those. However Twitch/Youtube live streams do not, and display a generic error message. When trying other browsers the live streams work fine.
And old Bugzilla post (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1467495) describes what I believe to be a possible reason for the problem, however following the solutions in that thread have not yet lead to a solution.
Any further insight or solutions would be appreciated.

Maybe this is obvious and I just don't know the proper terms to find a solution, but I've recently lost the little loading icon that spins in the left hand corner of a tab when you load a site (see gif). No idea what happened to it, but I've tried refreshing and reinstalling to no avail. Yesterday I reinstalled Windows 10 on my machine (not because of this) and it worked correctly until I booted up this morning and it's switched back to that weird icon. Any ideas how I might fix it? Could something like a windows update have messed it up? I miss that little spinney icon more than I would have expected.

So today, February 17th 2023, the first time I turned on my computer, opened firefox, then went to a website (Twitch) the site was loading very slow and while thinking "oh is Twitch having issues again?" my computer completely crashed, which has never been caused by firefox or any browser before. I started my computer back up and firefox itself wasn't working properly, opened a separate browser to troubleshoot my issues, so I did run in troubleshoot mode, I do have a "old firefox data" folder on my desktop, I tried copying the suggested files on there to the new profile folder. My bookmarks bar won't show my bookmarks even though I can see all my bookmarks under the manage bookmarks view. The 3 bar menu on the top right of the browser won't do anything when I click it so I have to do the "alt" key option of menu for everything. I did a security scan of my computer because I got paranoid and everything is showing as fine, so I don't know what could be causing this other than maybe the recent update. I didn't have a lot of extensions just UBlock Origin, Tabliss, and Honey. Should I just uninstall and reinstall firefox?

Firefox updated yestarday. I see these changes: extension are gone, theme settings were switched from Dark to Light, "Startup -> Open previous windows and tabs" option went from checked to unchecked. These things are still fine: bookmarks, saved passwords and history. Tried reverting to older Firefox version, but it didn't help so I installed the new one again. I then checked profiles in AppData folder and I see three of them. The problematic one I just described, the one that was automatically created when I tried to downgrade to previous Firefox version and the one which only contains empty "parent.lock" file. There is nothing useful in "Extensions" folders (first profile has addblock extension file which I just installed, second profile has langpack extension file). I don't particularly care about which specific extensions I used since I can just reinstall them when I need them again, but one of those extensions contained custom written scripts which were running on specific sites to help me with my work. Those scripts are what I really want to recover.

So, my browser is disabled. I can open it, but if I type anything in the adress bar (the home menu with recomendations and the search tab doesn't pop up) it will process the information, but then stop and gives me a blank screen. I send an image of it. For example if I type https://www.google.com the tab will go white and I can't do anything about it. In the apliccation menu, the only thing I can do is to go into troobleshooting mode by clicking the Help tab. Everything else (except for the new tab or window tool) is disabled. I beleive it is coused by the fact I can't open any website and those tabs are links. Please write back.

When doing some online homework in Firefox, my computer froze. I couldn't move my mouse or open task manager or do anything. I had ~12 tabs open to my online homework and Discord and TextMaker (a free Word alternative) running as well. I hard shut off my PC by holding down the power button. Upon startup, FF won't open. I click the shortcut and my computer has the little loading circle next to the mouse for a second, but then it disappears and nothing happens. If I try to open a PDF in FF or click a link to open in FF, the same thing happens; a loading circle next to my mouse cursor and nothing. I refreshed FF to no avail. I reinstalled FF, and nothing. I restarted my PC, and still no dice. FF doesn't appear in my task manager when I click it.
I tried running the firefox.exe -P command in the run menu and the start menu to manage my profiles and the same thing happens, I get a loading circle by my mouse and nothing happens.
I really like FF and use it for my schoolwork. Can anyone help me troubleshoot?

A friend (who knows even less about technology than me) has an old Dell Inspiron 1501 which has been running Linux Mint 18 Xfce, which is now unsupported. I'm beginning to regret it but just to keep it going for a couple of years I offered to update to Mint 20 Xfce, which is the last version listing 1 Gb as the minimum Ram (everything later or other version are 2 Gb or more), which is the most that system can use. Once the wifi was eventually working (old b43 broadcom driver) most things went fine (except Team Viewer, which works on another Mint 20 Xfce system, but that's not a question for here). However, she uses Yahoo mail, and for some reason just attempting to load the login page (login.yahoo.com) causes Firefox to crash (I mentioned Thunderbird in the title as I attempted to access Yahoo Mail with it, but because it needs to access the Yahoo Mail page (as I think this is now based on App codes rather than passwords), and doing that crashed Thunderbird also). I'm pretty sure I have methodically gone through all the troubleshooting steps on https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/troubleshoot-and-diagnose-firefox-problems (clear cookies & cache by deleting history; clear startup cache; refresh; reinstall; new profile). Firefox doesn't crash in Troubleshoot mode, despite the fact is seems to still use hardware acceleration, even though I thought it would disable that. Hence, I'm at the end of what I know to try (and that's just from following the guide, I am not an expert) and would be grateful for any help anyone can offer. I attach an image that lists all the submitted crash reports, as they will refer to slightly different conditions as I tried all the options mentioned above. I'm using my own PC to submit this (so any hardware & system data submitted by this web-form won't be relevant), not the Inspiron 1501 that has the issue. I can open the Yahoo mail page on this machine (same version of Firefox) and also on the Inspiron 1501 using Chrome (but there was a different reason relating to security why we couldn't log in via that). Would really like to get Firefox (and Thunderbird) working on the laptop, if possible.
