I'm looking for a screen recorder. The addon search list has several.

Awesome screenshot has a lot of users, but some aren't thrilled that you have to create an account.

it doesn't have to be particularly fancy. For instance, I have a couple Firefox and Windows issues I'd like t document.

I use Firefox version 103, the old version that is perfectly compatible with an extension I always use. I love this old version, and I don't want to update it to the new version. But the update reminder pops up many times everyday. it's so annoying. I used "about config" to turn it off (see photo 2); it works a bit, but the popup still there once daily after the configuration. I want to turn it off permanently. Is there any way to do it? Thank you very much!!

Suddenly on my PC the icon of Firefox turned white on both desktop and taskbar. And whenever I try to open Firefox, it says, "The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." And I didn't make any changes myself. So far it was fine. Now what can/should I do?

I'm currently consuming APIs hosted on an external server using Java( or any other server side language), and everything works smoothly. However, when attempting to consume the same APIs in JavaScript, I encounter the 'Access-Control-Allow-Origin' error.

After some research, I discovered that browsers implement security checks leading to this issue. Can anyone advise on how to disable these security checks or resolve this issue when accessing the website in the Firefox browser? Any insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hi all.

My sync is only sometimes working. I notice that when saving a bookmark and trying to find it on another device. I sometimes have to manually resync it or wait for a few days to get it shown on my other devices. Same with the tab sharing across devices.. In most cases it doesn't work at all..

Is there a way to set the default view and sorting for file upload folder?

The default for me is, detailed view and sorted by date.

I wanted to change it to large icon and sort by name, so it's easier to upload images. but I have to change the setting for every individual folder, is there a way to just set it as default?

Hi jscher2000, I want to thank you for your advice concerning a problem I had downloading Firefox to my Windows 10 laptop. I tried to follow your advice but was not successful. In the end, I googled "what if Firefox doesn't install". It took me to a website, https://www.makeuseof.com/fix-firefox-not-installing-windows , which took me to an article entitled "8 Fixes to Try if Firefox Won't Install on Windows". I tried #1 and #2 without success. #3, Temporarily Disable Your Antivirus Software, worked. Firefox is up and running. Feel free to share this with anyone who has a similar problem. I recently switched from another browser to Firefox, and overall, I'm enjoying it. However, there's one thing that bothers me, and I'm not sure if it's a Firefox setting specific to my laptop (Mac), but every time I try to copy text from files stored on my laptop and paste them into online editors in Firefox (Like Google Docs), the text is automatically formatted when I paste it (Cmd +P). With other browsers, this feature works as expected, preserving the formatting of the text, but in Firefox, it doesn't. I've tried disabling Enhanced Tracking Protection, but nothing seems to work. Could anyone give me a hand with that?

I use the above site to watch replays of the NFL. Upon updating the browser to the latest version, the page no longer loads the video content. It was working fine on the previous version and is working fine using Microsoft Edge. Can you please suggest a resolution?

Hello everyone, since my recent update on Mac OS Sonoma 14.0, my Firefox 119.0 (64-bit) bookmarks are becoming irresponsive.

When I hover over any bookmark in my Firefox side bar, it suddenly becomes invisible, and sometimes its entire folder disappear from the side bar from where it has previously been saved, as well as any next bookmark in the same folder. Yet it is still in the bookmark folder, but i have to relaunch Firefox to find it again!

Here are enclosed 2 screen captures. See the section called "A LIRE PRIO 2023-10" just below "00 sources" when I initially opened it on my side bar, it was visible, and when I clicked on any of the bookmarks saved in the folder "01 A LIRE PRIO 2023-10", the entire folder "01 A LIRE PRIO 2023-10" disappeared!

Yet if I go into my Firefox folder, it is still there. If i click on the next folder (from the lateral bar), it will disappear again!

Does anyone have had the same problem and found a solution?

Will appreciate as I had to move to google but does not enjoy it in the same way as Firefox (been on it since 2012!).

When I want to do a google search, it will only do an amazon search. So if I am asking a tax question, it brings up amazon products to buy. I can't search anything. Very frustrated.

When I open Firefox, the wrong town name is always there with temperature. Can't Firefox remember my town name? I'm getting a little upset that so simple a problem can't be fixed automatically. Sincerely Bob

My sign on for my webmail has not worked for the past couple of months. I have changed my password and this does not help. I have contacted Centurylink and tried everything they suggested and it still does not work. Have you changed something with the browser that it does not function anymore with my email? My email works using Microsoft Edge browser. It just sits on the sign in page and gives me no reason it does not work. I have cleared my cache and it does not help.

Hello, I'm trying to use https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/Add-ons/WebExtensions/API/dom/openOrClosedShadowRoot functionality in an extension but the element.openOrClosedShadowRoot always returns null.

Also is there a place in Firefox Devtools console (similar to the Chrome Devtools dropdown) to switch the context from the user console to the extension console so we can try extension only APIs?
