Idk why but sometimes firefox just doesn't prompt to generate secure password, I even have to download some extensions to generate secure password (Secure Password Generator) meaning more secure issues.

My guess is that you guys probably hardcoded something like {if "type: password" then prompt}, but it's still partly fault at developers too for bringing these huge chunks of javascript.

In screenshot there's element examaple in which i input password but no prompt whatsoever.

I have the problem asked in [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/que.../1297208], and indeed I had turned on/true privacy.resistFingerprinting. But I've turned it off and reloading https://webbrowsertools.com/timezone/ still shows UTC time (though my system timezone is -0700 (CST)). I was going to ask what is wrong, when I realized I have to restart my browser. So submitting with that solution.

I'm on a site, where the "enter you new password" for the registration does not offer the auto-generation of a secure password. On close inspection; the field is a text field, probably that's why.

Is there any reason we can't have a "generate password" in the context menu (r-click) for text fields?

Or is it available via some magic about:config setting?

It started when I tried to add a person to my contacts. An error message kept popping up which read lpe-data.errorSaveFailed. That problem seems to have gone away but I have a different problem. When I open my Contacts and click on a person's name their information appears OK on my screen. However, when I click on "Edit contact" to make a change, an error message pops up that says, "something went wrong. Please close this window and try again." I do that but nothing changes. Additionally, on my iPhone 11 which is synced to my Hotmail account a number of my accounts had their information duplicated to the point where some of them had up to 40 duplications. My thought was to delete Firefox from my computer and then reinstall it. When I went to do this, I noticed that there were two versions of the program on my computer, one of them installed August 26! I never installed it and I don't know how the second version got on m computer! Thinking that this duplication was the problem, I deleted the one installed on August 26 but kept the one installed a few years ago. Now I don't have any of my original bookmarks and the problem of making changes in a contact persists. Can someone guide me to a solution? Thank you in advance for your attention. Weird (indirect?) scroll via touch pad

Machine information: OS: Manjaro Linux x86_64 Host: 80TG Lenovo V110-15IAP Kernel: 5.19.1-3-MANJARO DE: Plasma 5.24.6 Xorg WM: KWin CPU: Intel Celeron N3350 (2) @ 2.400GHz GPU: Intel HD Graphics 500 Firefox: 103.0.2 (x64)

Problem: Scrolling in firefox is feeling weird: instead of smooth scrolling with 2 fingers (like on smartphone with 1 finger) firefox scrolls only by steps only when I move my fingers enough to trigger scrolling. In other applications I can scroll smoothly and fully control scrolling, I can scroll exactly N pixels if I want. In firefox I can only move by N pixels per M cm fingers movement on touch pad.

It's feeling as indirect input. I can feel same feeling on Windows with simple mouse. Firefox scrolls slower than Opera.

How to reproduce and find difference with other applications:

  1. Download Firefox and another application with direct input (Opera or Telegram for example)
  2. Scroll Firefox
  3. Scroll another application

Dear Firefox Team,

I am using Firefox in two laptops, one Win10 and one Win11. My situation is as the following:

1. Bookmarks in two laptops have already been synced. 2. On laptop1 I login Firefox, delete some bookmarks, and sync. 3. On laptop2 I login Firefox, sync, then all my deleted bookmarks are restored in laptop2. (4. If I login Firefox on laptop1 later, deleted bookmarks come back too.)

I expect 3. not to happen because I expect Firefox uses data modified time to decide which is the latest. However the above situation keeps happening.

Could you please guide me how to not restored deleted bookmarks? Thank you.

Lately, my Firefox crashes quite often. Now, my primary Firefox Window has about 60 sites continuously open, and I load all other sites in Private Mode. I do that to minimise "crap load" on my system (such as Temp files and the like).

Now, when my FF crashes, the main window restores. However, the quadrillion other sites on the Private Windows then, are lost. Which is DARN annoying!!!

Can you please add a "crash-loss-of-sites-in-private-window-prevention", please, so that when my FF crashes again, the sites open in Private Window aren't lost?

Thank you. Xog.

Hi Support,

Since my Linux Mint System updated Firefox to 103.0.2 certain websites will not play videos seemingly because Firefox or Adblocker is stopping the website from getting/using cookies for adverts.

Websites like YouTube, https://www.gbnews.uk/watchlive and channle4.com will not play or hang at times. The Youtube videos in question are ones that have adverts switched on as videos with no adverts run fine.

I am using Microsoft Edge as well and it play all the videos with no problems.

I am running the Linux Mint 20.3

Thanks Raymond

I set the 'open link in new tab' and FF will not do it. It opens the link in the same window. Very familiar with PCs, even built some with MFM drives. Have tried the usual of update, restart program, restart computer, etc.

I have worked on it for months, from time to time.

Also, I would like to point out that the Great Mozilla Firefox, seems to be allowing too much freedom (or a lowering of standards) in updates of the software.

I have gone into to settings and unchecked the auto fill and Ask to save logins and passwords for websites. That did nothing. Having the Auto login is a hug security issue for me. Can you please help.

If you use Full Screen a lot you'll notice that when your mouse cursor is near the top of the screen it often activates the appearance of the Address and Menu bars and whatever other toolbars you have working. The whole screen suddenly jolts down. Then up as soon as the cursor moves down. I cannot imagine the mindset of the designer that implemented it; must have been someone poor on the keyboard that uses the mouse as much as possible. Alt+D activates the toolbar! We don't need any mouse cursor to display it. Especially as we need to type anyway to use the Address Bar. I searched Add-Ons but couldn't find anything. Any ideas of how to stop the cursor from activating the toolbars? Anything in about:config maybe? Anything I can edit in the files? Please! Let's get some sanity back to Firefox Full Screen.

I followed all of the steps for Firefox taking up too much memory, and stopped when it said to add RAM or upgrade my computer. Browsers shouldn't be maxing out my RAM and it's getting worse. In the last 6 months or so, my computer started crashing while doing other things unrelated to Firefox. Went into my task manager and saw that Firefox was taking up most of my RAM. Yes, I have a lot of tabs open, but they didn't cause my computer to run out RAM like this last year. Why is it being such a pig?

I have 32GB of RAM and that stuff is costly. I might not be able to find RAM for this computer and may have the max amount (will have to check that). So is buying a new computer because this one cost me over $4.5k and one like it today will cost over $6k ... just because Firefox wants to eat up more and more? Once I kill Firefox, my RAM goes back down to 45% instead of 90%, but I don't like it closed. I have to restart too many steps for extensions when I open it and like to have it open while I do other things.

Please, stop increasingly taking up all of my RAM! Firefox is causing all sorts of strange things to happen when there's too little RAM. Blue screen of death, programs not being able to start, monitor wigging out, etc. Give us a break today.
