Started yesterday March 1st. Linux Mint Firefox 86 Brother HLL 2300 printer
Was working fine day before. Went to print and it stops after (it appears) to start sending to the printer. Pops up an error message. Run diagnose and it returns with "The printers state message is "Filter Failed"
Prints fine with any other browser of software.
I have tired all the reset printers instructions on here. Including editing the config file.

Dear Community,
I would like to download this extension: https://addons.mozilla.org/pl/firefox/addon/adblock-plus/ I would like to know how it works. If I will install this extension my firefox will be check hashsum for the files of this extension automatically? Or maybe public key of the organization/company who created Adblock Plus extension? How it is work? Can you tell me? I hope that people from Mozilla now read this and can answer for my question. This is very important for me.
Next question is to Adblock Plus extension. I can read this information: "This add-on is not actively monitored for security by Mozilla. Make sure you trust it before installing" so my question is why Mozilla don't recommended this extension? This extension now use 6,678,297 people so this is huge count. It is possible that this extension is not safe and these people now use malicious software? Why on dedicated website for this extension I can't see company name? Why this company is not verified by Mozilla? So my sugestion for people from Mozilla is to change this and check this extension or maybe add some information on website for this extension.
So I should install this extension? My friend use this on Google Chrome and he recommended me this software but I don't know if this is exatcly the same version. Maybe Chrome has verified Adblock Plus software and this is safe but Mozilla didn't verified this and this can be dangerous software because this can be not exactly the same version?
Next question is to adblocker. Why Mozilla can't make their own software to block all annoying ads and due to fight with malware? Example Opera browser have own buil-in adblocker. Why firefox can't do this? Maybe people from Mozilla should do this? This can be helpful because if this can be happen I will be not install any 3rd party software for firefox anymore and I will be safe. Maybe I can send somehow this suggestion to people from Firefox?
I hope that you can help me.
Yours faithfully, Peter

When I try to share one of my monitor's via WebRTC (e.g. https://www.webrtc-experiment.com/Pluginfree-Screen-Sharing) the options are the open windows and "share full screen", which is a combination of both my monitors. (1280x1024 and 1920x1080) I tested this with firefox 86.0 and firefox-nightly 88.0a1.20210301. To ensure it aren't addon's or a weird setting that I made that stop the screen sharing I used the command "firefox-nightly --profile /tmp/firefox-test" I use Arch-Linux with i3 as window manager with the X11 Server. I would except to be able to select the individual monitor's instead of the combination of all.

Hello everyone, I'm working on customizing the Firefox experience for users within my organization.
I have to really limit their access. One of those requests were to prevent users from minimizing their active Firefox window.
I've found articles like the one below that show how to hide all the buttons: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/906698
However it does not suit the purpose. since it removes all of them and only on full screen.
Is there a way I can just hide the minimize button so that the user can just hide the minimize button?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Even in safe mode, I cannot make a change to my default search engine stick; it always reverts to DuckDuckGo.
After changing the default search engine in Preferences->Search to, say, Ecosia Search, typing a space character in the address+search bar goes from a generic world favicon to DuckDuckGo. Restarting with a cleared cache doesn't help.
None of my addons are related to search except Ecosia Search. Even with Ecosia Search removed, I get the same behavior, the default search engine reverts to DuckDuckGo. In any case, safe mode with all addons disabled doesn't change that behavior.
If i remove DuckDuckGo from the list of search engines, I cannot search at all and I cannot choose a default search enigne from the drop down list in Preferences->Search.
Note that I can always choose an alternate search engine in the drop down search menu, and that works. Setting a default search engine doesn't work.
Any suggestions on how to make a search engine other than DuckDuckGo be my default search engine would be appreciated. As a bonus, an explanation of why I'm having this difficulty would be wonderful.
TIA.

I was wondering if their was a way to switch the find bar bar back to the old way of searching. The way it is now is annoying. When I use find it's usually the same search across multiple tabs. Now I have to open the find in each tab and if I change the find in one tab it doesn't change across the other find bars so I now have to change each individually. Thanks.

I'm running Arch btw, with GNOME Shell 3.38.3 and Firefox 86.0 (64-bit).
If I have Firefox already open and I click on a link inside of another app, Firefox displays the following error message and the link fails to open.
Firefox is already running, but is not responding. To use Firefox, you must first close the existing Firefox process, restart your device, or use a different profile.
However, if I close Firefox and then click the link again, Firefox will correctly open the link.

I guess it was the update to Firefox v. 86.0 here on Ubuntu that made Firefox create an extra empty window beside the session I always (re)open, which contains a large amount of tabs. When I try to close the empty window Firefox gives a warning, that this will close my (many) tabs. That doesn't make much sense to me. And when another app, like Thunderbird, opens an URL, it is opened in the new empty window. I can add that I use some add-ons like Simple Tab Groups, Vertical Tabs Reloaded, AdBlock Plus and NoScript.

Hi. I'm currently using Firefox 86.0 in Linux (Ubuntu 20.04 64-bit) and for aeons I've been using Ctrl+Shift+ PgUp/PgDn to move tabs left and right, but a couple of updates ago I lost the ability to do so. Actually, I should say using the LEFT Ctrl and Shift buttons no longer works, as I ended up trying the right ones and I can still re-order tabs that way. However, I'm just so used to having my left hand working on that side of the keyboard, I always automatically press the left Ctrl+Shift, so I'd really like to get back to how things were until very recently. I was hoping doing another update to 86.0 yesterday would fix it, but it hasn't so here I am.
I've searched all over the web for a remedy, but all I see is people repeating the key combo, people recommending extensions that no longer exist (and I don't really want to install addons for something that used to be the default). I have not installed any addons for ages, have not tinkered with any settings (I can't even find any for key bindings) - all I did was let my system update Firefox, and that key combo was gone. (Note: since my system and apps get updated together, I can't actually be certain with was updating Firefox that did this, but I see no changed keyboard behavior elsewhere).
If anyone knows how to fix this, like a key in about:config or whatever, please let me know. PS: While searching the web, I've seen a lot of talk about related (Ctrl+Shift) combos I've never used - like Ctrl+Shift+ End to move the tab to the very end - and none of them work; the only Ctrl+Shift combo that works, and only with the right Ctrl+Shift, is Ctrl+Shift+ PgUp/PgDn for moving tabs left and right. I thought I should add that just in case it's related.

Firefox: latest (86.0 at the moment of posting this question) OS: Ubuntu 18.04.5
Problem: Firefox always reports time (to sites) in UTC (my correct timezone is UTC+7). That refers to site like everytimezone.com.
At the same time, Google Chrome on the same system reports correct time.
System clocks are synced to external time servers, time drift is negligible (if any).
How can one make Firefox report correct time (preferably without any extensions)?

Hello everyone! thank you for your assistance and expertise ahead of time as any help is heavily appreciated.
I've been trying to find a way to disabled downloading in Firefox all together. The reason for this is per my organization's requests. As they do not want users downloading anything what so ever.
I've found extensions that can do this, however since I'm tweaking a profile in which is shared amongst all users. Its not the best solution since I have to manually check the add-ons on every time I make a new user profile.
Is there by any chance a means for me to disable downloading as a whole within either userChrome.css or about:config?
Any help again is greatly appreciated.

The group for MusicPi used to be at the left of the screen just before BedPi's group.
Yes, there is a problem with the height/size of the groups which is/was a suspect, but thinking about it a bit more: It was working until the upgrade.
