See reddit post— no way I'm typing all that again! Reddit Post It's not that long, trust me— it's just that the code is long... I've attached a slightly different screenshot to the one I posted on the reddit post, but it makes no difference if you see one or the other, or both!

In summary, I've added a css code to my userChrome.css thingy to move the tabs below the search bar. I was also wondering what the best way to transfer my userChrome.css file + about:config settings over to a new version of Firefox. Due to not being admin of my laptop (I'm running it out of the .dmg file— besides, I always like to keep an older version of Firefox as a fallback), I have to install a whole new version of Firefox onto my laptop to update.

Thanks!

Some fonts randomly use an ugly, blocky font for no reason. I've seen it happen on some web pages and PDFs but not on all. I have tried other browsers but it is a Firefox-only problem. It doesn't occur in troubleshooting mode as shown in the attached picture. Any help to resolve this would be greatly appreciated!

Sometimes when I open different programs on my computer and have firefox open at the same time all my firefox windows will stop fitting to my screen. (See images). Programs that it has happened with is VS code and the built in windows 10 mail app. It usually happens when I have VScode in fullscreen and then pull it down to make it windowed.

My setup consists of 2 1920x1080 monitiors and any instance of firefox on either monitor will get this issue at when using VScode or the mail app.

Only solution that fixes it is to open a new instance of firefox and drag all my tabs into it.

Been on the same setup for 3 years using chrome previously with this never being an issue. Switched to firefox a few months ago and this has happened pretty regularly.

Image 1 is when the window is in focus, image 2 is when the window is not in focus.

Happy to provide additional information/video of it happening if needed.

Thanks!

I cannot get the Firefox Browser Page to fit the screen on my laptop. I constantly have to hit <cntrl> - or + to zoom in and out. I have to do this for every tab I open. This isn't an issue with other browsers. I'm about fed up and ready to quit Firefox. I'm not "tech savvy" so if you respond use baby language. I'm operating on Windows 11.

I'm running Mac OS 12.6.6 and Firefox 114.0.1. When I try to log into my Google account, I get the message, "This browser or app may not be secure." I'm running the current version. Javascript is enabled. I've cleared my caches and data. I can log in to Google on other browsers, such as Safari. • This happened after I set up my browser to use Bing Chat, which required that I clear my cache and data.

After I refreshed my Firefox browser the toolbar has changed. When I load a webpage, for instance AOL, Facebook, etc. there is no "home" icon on the toolbar, only the Firebox icon. When I click on that it takes me to a page for a download of the mobile app. In order to go back to any of the options showing on my Firefox home page, I have to completely come out of the browser and go back into it. How do I fix this? It is very annoying.

For about one month (June, 2023) or more, updated Firefox for Windows 10 cannot play YouTube videos or videos on other website without being in Troubleshoot mode. Google Chrome has no problem with the same videos, and Firefox for Android also plays them. All help suggestions have been followed, including Refreshing Firefox, disabling some and all hardware acceleration, etc. Troubleshoot mode does not identify what was disabled (themes, extensions, etc.), but there are very few of such anyway, and Refresh did not resolve the issue. VPN was also disabled to see if that made any difference, but it did not. When the videos are attempted, the audio and progress bar work, but video is black. Scrolling with the progress bar reveals all images from the video one at a time, but PLAY does not enable the video, just audio.

How do I stop Firefox from out of control data clearing? There is a window under Privacy & Security / History / Clear History that opens a window that allows a user, in theory, to choose which components to clear (cookies, cache, etc.) In that window is a pull down menu to specify the time range to clear. A screen shot of that is attached. I do NOT want my cookies cleared unless I say so. I do not want cookies or some of the other components cleared from the last hour, I don't want them cleared from the last two hours or the last four hours or today. (And the "Everything" reference does not make sense syntactically in this setting.) A screen shot of that menu is attached.

It does not matter if I uncheck one or all of those boxes by cookies, cache, etc. When I open the browser the next time, they are checked again -- AND THE MOFO COOKIES HAVE TO BE MANAGED AGAIN, ETC., ETC., ETC.

What have a setting if Firefox is going to arbitrarily clear everything immediately or once and hour or by some criterion it has not revealed to the user -- nor has informed the user exists?

Anyone have any thoughts on a work-around?

Thanks.
