After a recent automatic update my old problem with Firefox Quantum came back. Every time I open Firefox browser I get multiple 4-6 firefox.exe running in the background processes. When I go into details and try to end process tree it crashes my browser. When I open Firefox it starts all over again. I have gone into about:preferences and
De-select ‘Use recommended performance settings’ Set Content process limit value to ‘1’ from its default value
I have also gone into about:config and switched browser.tabs.remote.autostart to false. Still have the same problem.

I just wrote a note about this to the comments section but thought I would pose it here. Since V70, Firefox has been crashing on its own and leaving behind an open process. When I try to restart, it says that Firefox is already running but not responding; close the instance first.
I've been to task manager and it will not allow me to close the process. It does nothing.
My only solution thus far has been to refresh the operating system with a backup image; no solutions given me by the local community have worked yet.
This is now about the 5th time this has happened since V70 download and reloading the OS is getting pretty tiring. I'm currently on V71 and the problem has not yet been solved with the updates.
Firefox will not load, doing a clean install of Firefox did not fix the problem. Doing a clean install with a fresh profile did not fix the problem either.

I have been having problems with firefox lately. Every time I try to run the program it automatically closes without giving an error message. I am running Windows 10 and this happens in safe mode as well. I have tried doing a clean install of firefox - that did not fix the problem. I tried deleting my profile after uninstalling then doing a fresh install, this did not fix the problem either. I ran a virus scan and did not detect any malware. I don't know what else to try.

If we roll back to v70 of fix fox we do not get this error. Was bug missing or am i missing something in the change log.

I was using a Mac (used Firefox for the website i'm talking about) until recently. I now use a brand new Windows 10 laptop. I have noticed that Youtube looks completely different on the new computer than it did on the Mac. Can anyone explain why? Also, when I go on Youtube on Internet Explorer on the new laptop, it looks the way it does on the Mac. What's going on? Is there a way to get it looking like it did on the Mac? I've also attached screenshots from both computers. The first pic is from the Mac, the 2nd is from the Windows 10 laptop.

When downloading a file, the file download window pops up. The option "Save this file" is automatically selected, which is good. But the OK button is disabled until I hover over it, or for several seconds or something? Sometimes it stays disabled, and sometimes it enabled itself quite quickly. It seems kind of random.
Bottomline is, I want that OK button to be ALWAYS enabled. I want to be able to hit the enter key as soon as the download window pops up. I don't want my browser to make me wait arbitrarily. That's annoying.
I would also like to know why the "Do this from now on" checkbox is disabled. Why can't I make downloads always start right away without that (to me, silly) download window popping up? That's what that checkbox is for, is it not?
I would suggest that disabling a UI control is always bad if it's not absolutely completely 100% crystal clear WHY it's disabled. Instead, display a message or whatever explaining why something can't be done.

Hi everyone.
I'm trying downloading my files from google drive, but this error message always shows up:
The page isn’t redirecting properly
An error occurred during a connection to doc-0o-74-docs.googleusercontent.com.
This problem can sometimes be caused by disabling or refusing to accept cookies.
I tried a lot of solutions but none of them work: - Clear data, cookies - Delete cookies.sqlite - Refresh FF, use in Safe Mode, Private Mode - Reinstall FF - Turn off Tracking Protection.
I just bought a new laptop and install newest version of FF and got this error. I can download the files using Chrome, Ms. Edge. I also can download using FF 71 on my old laptop (Windows 8.1)
Please help me with this problem. Thank you very much.

I use latest version of Firefox as my browser. How can I remove the tracking link, guce.advertising.com which is now attempting to load when opening a tab from my home page www.huffpost.com? I use u-Block Origin, which does recognize this. I also have Malwarebytes pro, Zemana AntiMalware, CCleanerPro (Removes trackers upon closing browser) and Eset NOD32 Antivirus. None catch, remove or quarantine this tracker. What is the solution??? I have done the "Refresh" and re-installed add-ons. As Firefox often responds slow to my actions on my Compaq Presario CQ5303NL I have tried solving this by raising the priority of some of the 8 to 10 firefox.exe processes from Normal to High (with 3 Firefox windows and about 20 tabs open). This is done with the Task Manager. However the last month every 10 to 20 minutes the priority settings are reversed and about four firefox.exe processes are then set to Low priority at regular time intervals. This also seems to result in slow response to mouseclicks. Are you aware of this phenomenon? Is this something Firefox does by itself, or is this intervention coming from Windows 10. I notice that when I put explorer.exe in high priority, this lasts till shutdown of the computer, as with other manageble processes.
This is not a serious problem. It's more questioning what Windows is doing with Firefox. (memory is 6GB)

Setting Firefox to run as admin through compatibility settings causes what seems like infinite prompts to run as admin, and basically never opens. The only solution I have to being able to open Firefox as admin is to do it manually, whereas before I haven't had this problem to the same degree. Occasionally before this infinite series of prompts, it would sometimes prompt me 3 times before opening Firefox as admin while having "Run as Admin" enabled under compatibility settings.
Not sure why this is happening, or why it's getting worse, reinstalling did not fix this issue either. So whatever is happening, I thought I'd just report it here to see if anyone else is experiencing something similar to this.
