In trying to solve my problem, I am going from bad to worse! Embarrassing! Screenshot of Chinese character issue is attached. Also, when I try to sign into Firefox from that page - https://support.cdn.mozilla.net/hi-IN/questions/1381354 - I am blocked from signing in. Somehow I am signed in now, but not sure how. duh! So first, the Chinese characters I need to solve, THEN have a question about an issue with mailto - no gmail default option. I have legacy handlers downloaded, kindly provided by jscher2000. Thank you! Do I drag his legacy handlers into my profile, if I am able to do so? I have tried all other suggestions on this problem. I really hope not to have to start anew with Firefox, because I have years of settings I am afraid I will lose. (Know it is doable, but I am a coward, as well as stupid, apparently.) I cleared cache, junk, and history from my computer, and now I have no bookmarks on Firefox, and when I bring up the restore option it give me several options but not bookmarks. Can someone please help me to restore them. Thanks

I have never used a primary/master password. I updated to 109.0.1 on a computer that had not been used for a few weeks. I do NOT sync FF on any computer. "Use Primary Password" is NOW checked on this 2nd computer. (never used or needed before) In order to try to change this, I was required to enter my password. When I enter the password I use to access mozilla support (the only FF password I have ever had), nothing happens and I do not get any options, i.e., forgot password. I have never been requested to enter a password on any computer (to access FF; only to reach mozilla support.) On my primary computer, "Use Primary Password" is not checked, as it should not be. There used to be icons for the few addons I use like AdBlock Utlimate. Now with Firefox 109.0 in OpenMandriva Linux v. 23.90 and 23.01 or with Firefox 109.0.1 tar.bz2 from Mozilla website they are gone. Problem occurs with Ublock Origin and the DeepL Multi-translate addon also. (I use AdBlock Ultimate or Ublock Origin, not both at same time.)

I do not know if this is something in Firefox or something in OpenMandriva Linux but would like to find out soon if possible.

The only work around I have is to use an old profile. My best guess is that profile may be from time of v. 103-104 or there about.

Hi, I'm running Firefox 109 on Win11 on a recent lenovo laptop with touchpad gesture and I can't find the way to disable a 3 fingers tap behavior specific to firefox.

I want 3 fingers tap to only open link in a new tab (mouse middle click) witch is working fine and match win11 touchpad gesture setting.

But in firefox, when I'm not exactly on a link, the 3 fingers tap is giving me a round with 2 vertical narrows and a dot (see screenshot below), and then any touch on the touchpad is scrolling the page, really fast if swiping vertically, or slowly if swiping horizontally.

I can't find any about:config parameter about this behavior. I found a lot of discussion about 3 finger swipe on Mac computer but nothing specific to three finger tap and scroll (Like Here or Here)

If someone has any clue, or just the name of this function that I could look for it, I can't translate it right to find anything. Thanks a lot

Sync is a nightmare. It is so unintuitive! What exactly would be wrong with having separate Export and Import buttons for each of Settings, Addons, Tabs, History, Bookmarks, etc? I have a desktop box and a newer laptop I wanted to get up to date. I pressed the Sync button on the desktop ... By the way, there`s a link below that reads "Connect another device" ... Connect where? Someone is designing these interfaces who has absolutely zero imagination. Anyways, I signed off, moved the ethernet cable to my laptop, signed in, pressed Sync, and voila!, I got my Bookmarks, at least. But I have no idea how to get my tabs and windows. I tried with a "download link" something or other, but it seemed to assume I was sync-ing to a phone, and didn`t work. Any way to get my tabs?

Hello, I am contacting you guys in hopes of a fix of the removing the following certificate not going away despite me deleting it in certificates. When deleted it appears again when I restart Firefox. "Your browser is being managed by your organization".

Note I believe its from threat protection from NordVPN, however, I deleted NordVPN and threat protection and all the remnants with an App Shredder for this to still be here.

I am using Firefox version 109.0.1 and MacOS 13.2 (22D49) (i'm using a m1 macbook air)

I have tried manually deleting it multiple times and using the following terminal command recommended to me from someone on reddit.

(Said terminal code I tried) sudo defaults write /Library/Preferences/org.mozilla.firefox EnterprisePoliciesEnabled -bool FALSE

None of this worked. Hopefully there's a fix.

I realize that the page I am using findbar to search from reloads and scrolls to the top using some Javascript so that when I return to the searched page from a popup, the last search item is no longer focused when I come back so (or press F3 or Ctrl G) e.g. if I found the 29th hit, then I have to click down 30 times to get to the next search hit.

I tried using add-in Luminous to disable the reload/scroll to top of the page that I am searching but failed. It is a complicated add-in.

Is there any way to jump say 10 hits down at once?

using firefox version 109 and my internet down load manager no longer works, it works in other browsers but not since updating firefox. not sure if i was successful in posting this request prior to this one so will give it another try. thanks

So this crazy new update has broken my Firefox in these ways:

1. All my bookmarks on my bookmarks bar have been deleted. 2. I can't drag any new links to the bookmarks bar 3. Overflow menu for apps is empty and will only let me drag Firefox defaults to it such as settings. Dragging apps to it is impossible. It "is" possible to pin items by using the Chrome puzzle piece..

Using troubleshooting mode has no effect.

When I open Firefox it's just a black page and anything I click on isn't responsive. I can't go into options or anything. Sometimes Firefox doesn't even load. It worked fine earlier than all of a sudden It stopped working today. Web pages don't load. Nothing works

I seen a post earlier that had a link to a supposed fix but I couldn't figure it out. So if anybody is able to help me it would be much appreciated. I am not an advanced user when it comes to Firefox

So, for awhile now when I go to some sites, the screen suddenly starts flashing, then it jitters and turns some light color (like a light green; not blue screen, not black). If I guess where the "X" is to shut down the tab that has the video, I can end this. Often, like on youtube, I find the problem is some ad video that was playing. The rest of the site is ok. But not always.

scroll down to video and everything blinks, becomes unuseable

It happens in lots of places, though. It is not per se a YouTube problem or just a problem at NBCSports. I shell out to MS Edge, and it seems to handle everything fine, so I'm assuming at this point it is a browser issue.

One last point: after this happen the screen display is degraded even after I manage to shut down the offending tab or video. It takes a Log off/log back in or reboot to fix everything. The degradation takes the form of making the screen look a bit like a pointilist painting, although that's an exaggeration.

FF 109.0.1 64 bit Windows 11 NVidia GeFORCE RTX 3060 running studio driver 526.98 (I have switched periodically from / to their gaming driver, which doesn't seem to matter)

WHERE IS MY BOOKMARKS TOOLBAR??? Every time I update Firefox (now 109), I end up with all kinds of problems! NOW, I can't see my bookmark toolbar. All the help articles tells me how to show it or how to bookmark a page, which I already did multiple times. But this issue is never solved. If I can't get this resolved, I'm going to MS Edge.

Hello! When I turn on firefox in my laptop it always opens in small window, so it is very annoying and it happens every time. I know that, when I reset firefox to fabric settings, problem will go away, but for a couple days only and again it will be. So do you have any idea, how to solve this problem once and for all? Every time I come across a file and click the link to either open or save the file, Firefox just downloads the file -- THEN it asks me if I want to open it or save it..? It's bugged and an obscene security threat if the browser is so easily willing to download files against my intention.

Before I'm asked, I have gone through the settings multiple times to ensure 'Always ask you where to save files' and 'Ask whether to open or save files" are checked. Behavior does not change according to settings.

Example 1. Click link for a PDF with the intention to open, read, and forget 2. Firefox automatically downloads the file to my download folder 3. Firefox prompts me if I want to save the file or open it

If I click 'open', the file stays in the saved location even though I don't want it to exist.

I need to recover my Mozilla (Firefox) account on my computer after this latter crashed. Unfortunately, apparently I don't have the good password. Probably I used an automatically generated password which I don't remember.

I still have my account connected on my Android smartphone, but I can't access the account details (no way to recover my password or change through this device?!), and I can't export my bookmarks. Also, apparently all my identifiers and passwords were not synced on my smartphone :-( Hence somewhere all my precious information are available, but stupidly enough I can't access it anymore and resetting the password warns me that I might (is it even a certainty or a possibility?) lose everything. It seems that I cannot even produce a revovery key (to reset pwd without losing data as mentioned in the Help pages) as I can't connect on a desktop browser anymore (but well on my Android version). I am lost and just stupidly blocked - this is SO frustrating, I initially thought it would be a good idea to put everything in Mozilla - well...

Is there ANY way to actually recover my account without losing data on my desktop Firefox, given I still have access to the email account associated to the Mozilla account (and to the original emails from the creation of my accounts) and I still have access to my Firefox account on the Android app but this one doesn't seem to allow to do anything interesting in my case??

Bonjour, Depuis une semaine, j'ai ce message à l'ouverture de ma page d'accueil Orange, avec Firefox !! PR_END_OF_FILE_ERROR il n'y a qu'avec mon navigateur et pas sur Chrome ni Edge. Avant, j'étais le seul impacté par ce problème et maintenant les trois P.C de la maison le sont. Deux W11 et un W10. En déconnectant le VPN le souci n'existe plus. Merci d'avance pour votre aide.

For decades, when I right-clicked and selected Customize, Firefox opened a separate icons window. Now, it opens as a tab. How can I make it open again as a window? Thank you.
