I made sure everything was synced and my account logged in prior to reinstalling windows. I log into the same account and nothing is there. Help! How can I recover the bookmarks and history that are clearly selected in my profile?

Sorry to have this same issue again, knowing full well it can happen after finding this some years ago (https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1319823), I tried to carefully connect two older PC devices back to firefox sync, however on one I managed to enable sync before disconnecting my profile (it seemed as if reconnecting sync temporarily was the only way to disconnect a profile from firefox's UI - I should have been more careful and removed the profile from the filesystem level): at which point I polluted the sync server.

I've noticed that `about:sync` has an option under bookmarks/engine actions 'wipe bookmarks', which sounds exactly what I need, and if I watch what happens once pressed it does the right thing and repopulates the sever with the 'correct' PC's bookmark set (when run from that PC), however it also says 'other devices will act like a reset', which i'm finding NOT to be the case: eventually one of my other device repollutes the server with bad bookmarks which propogate.

I'm thinking the culprits are my phones, If I wipe and do a sync on a phone, my phone's bookmarks stay polluted. If i'm right about that, I think my question is: can I wipe my profile (or preferably only my bookmarks) from my phones' Firefox without having to entirely uninstall/reinstall (or do you have any other advice for not re-polluting the server from some already-polluted device's bookmarks?

Good morning. I recently changed smartphone, activating Firefox Sync between both devices, making sure that the old one didn't have the setting that makes open tabs inactive. Now after a week I don't see anymore synchronized tabs with the old smartphone. How can I solve it? Thanks, Phil.

I love Firefox/Mozilla Sync and I use it a lot, but I've recently had a desire/need to set up a scenario that some may think perculiar - let me set the scene ...

• Work PC running Firefox - 1 profile
• Work VDI running Firefox - 1 profile
• Work laptop running Firefox - 2 profiles (work & personal)

Mainly for the sake of sending tabs to the appropriate Firefox profile on the laptop, I want/need to be able to config things in Sync to treat those 2 profiles as being different entities. Currently, it appears that all profiles on a device (or within the same user profile on a Windows computer) are treated as the same entity by Sync.

Any ideas on how to achieve what if trying to do? Is it possible with Firefox/Mozilla Sync?

BTW., for clarity, if it matters, the devices listed above are all Windows. FWIW., I also use FF on Android and Linux ... and MacOS.

you dont need a screenshot. its reral simple i am tired of nothing working right. i have added multiple wallets on my phantom app but it doesnt show up on my phantom wallet on my laptop. i have been hitting check for updates for 2 hours. why wont it update. and if i have to put in a 24 word secret phrase evertime i want to update my extension. then good bye firefox. then why have a check fofr updates button.

I have Mac, Windows, and Linux boxes. All show connected to Firefox Sync, however, bookmarks etc are only actually in sync between Windows and Linux. I've tried logging out on all devices, resetting passwords, reinstalling FF on the Mac. Can't seem to get it to work.

This seems to be caused by Firefox. I don't have this problem with Edge, Chrome or Opera

Why you create Mozilla account with sync, if I can't use profile which I saved on my old PC. I change my PC and now I can't use my open tabs as needed, I need to open each tab one by one. Why ??? Why I can't use saved profile on my new PC ??????

Yesterday on my linux computer I noticed that my container setup ise back to the default setting. Now I'm using my windows laptop, and it is als back to the defaults. I'm afraid the same thing will happen when I start using my windows desktop. Should I poll the network cable and delete my firefox sync data, so I can hopefully save my containers setup? Or is this not going to help, and I'm fucked anyway :)

I have enabled Firefox Sync between my laptop and my Android. When I go to the manage history tab on my laptop, the history of both my laptop and phone is shown but without the device the tab was viewed on. Is there a way to filter history based on which device I viewed on?

I have installed and enabled sync under the same Mozilla account on my desktop and laptop. The only thing that seems NOT to sync between them is my add-ons. There was no sync error log when I checked. I have already tried logging out and logging back into my Mozilla account on both computers, turning off my antivirus real-time protection, double-checking my sync settings, and restarting both my computers.

This issue is beyond frustrating. Does anybody have any additional suggestions to save my sanity by correcting this issue? I would appreciate any assistance that is provided! Thank you!

Some years ago I had to replace my PC and thought - Wonderful - just use sync to bring back all my tabs etc into the new PC...

The long and the short of it (in the past), was that Firefox decided that the new PC was the one to be synchronising source, and promptly removed all the apps/tabs etc. so sync was in line with the new PC - erasing all the app data. I understand there is no 'Master' sync account.

The question is, how can I stop Firefox initially migrating the Firefox app data in the wrong direction? I know that the app/tab data is currently still correct as my laptop still has all my apps etc. Is there some way to stop Firefox thinking the latest clean browser on the new PC has the correct (None) apps etc? Has the laptop to be logged-in and currently on-line before starting the new PC with Firefox? Is there a process to follow with a new 'un-synced' PC?

Sorry if I'm making things sound difficult, but don't want to loose everything which is currently correct and still these within sync data. It's maybe something that can't happen in these later versions of Firefox, but I want to be sure before logging in my new 'Blank' PC.

Dear All

We have recently found out that Firefox doesn't sync with Google My Business listings as when you search for “Saffery Geneva” on Firefox it brings up “Saffery Champness SA”, while on Google it correctly appears as Saffery (Suisse) SA as per attached print screen.

Any idea why Firefox is not syncing with Google with respect to this listing?

I had to reinstall windows and it wipe Firefox.i didn't know my password so I resetted it. Problem is it wiped all my data. Didn't know changing passwords for forefox would so this. Anyway I can get them back?

Hello there.A couple of days ago my windows pc session creashed.After rebooting i attempted to log on but everything was different.All my bookmarks were disappeared and all my saved pages were not appearing.There was a yellow triangle appearing on the right side of the program mentioning the i was disconnected from my account..I attempted to use my account i used the correct credentials but it Never send me the pin code in order to reauthorize and re access my account. My ios mozilla sessions is operating fine so far and this is the one posting right now! Im looking forward for your reply in order to gain access again on my pc.Thank you!

I have 3 computers (2 desktops, 1 laptop). I want to permanently delete approx 300 unused/unneeded passwords. I deleted them from computer #1, then logged out of Firefox. The new count was 346 passwords.

I went to the second computer, deleted approx the same number from computer #2. The new count was 324 passwords I returned to computer # 1 and logged back into Firefox.

Within a short time, computer #1 is at 759 passwords, and computer 2 is at 691 passwords.

How do I get the deletions to be permanent? It's the second pass at doing this and I'm FRUSTRATED.

I did an hardreset to my computer yesterday, today I logged in to my FireFox account and now all of my stuff (History, Passwords, Bookmarks) are from 2020. I don't have any backup, what do I do?
