An update to Thunderbird has somehow removed all my inbox sub folders and all remaining messages in my inbox are blank, ie. there is no message body showing for any of my messages.
I tried right button clicking on one of my account's inbox folders and going to properties, repair folder and all my inbox messages for that account prior to about a week ago were removed.
My profile folder still shows as being approx 13Gb in size so hopefully everything is still there. Somehow everything seems to be pretty messed up. About Thunderbird shows I'm running 115.5.2 with a button below to update to 115.6.1.
Does anyone have a suggestion on how to fix this?

Also, I have some kind of browser hijacker (BING) that keeps directing me to Bing website. I have tried the standard procedures as outlined, bu t still BING often redirects my searches. I am also working with my anti-virus people to try to correct, but thought I would ask you as well. Hello. I need help getting Thunderbird to stop marking and sorting certain emails as threads. Seems to be completely spontaneous and for no apparent reason, even in the inbox. I have never actively marked emails as threads. I've tried to remove the "threads" function in the folder settings, but it doesn't seem to have helped in some cases. I also need help with getting the email "unstuck" from the thread structure, I have tried "Ignore threads" and "Ignore subthreads" with the result that the email disappeared. The documents I have seen have not been of any help. Reply preferably to my usual e-mail address, have a bit of ours with mail in the G-mail account.

The FROM address that was coming up was not one I wanted. Asking the question about the default sever brought up more than 150 discussions. Only after reading many them for more than half an hour, did I find the answer: In Account Settings, select Account Actions, then select Set as Default. Why isn't there a searchable user manual that would provide the answer to a simple question quickly? OK, the question may not be that simple because 'default sender' may be ambiguous. It might refer to the default SMTP server (the one used if you specify "Use default server" in your account settings for outgoing server). Or it could be the default identify, if your account has more than one identity (others, like me, may be pleased to learn you can have more than one identity in an account). In my case case, it meant the default account. But the number of meanings is finite. If a user queries for the default sender, the help facility should present the alternative meanings and ask the user which one is wanted. Wikipedia a disambiguation function. Can't Thunderbird have one as well?

v115.7.0 I have been a user and contributor for years. OS is still Win7. I have had a IMAP connection to Comcast for years, now it will not connect. I have made sure I am using the correct password. When I start thunderbird, a secondary window pops up with the error message unable to connect. WEnt thru lots of posts but no results. One interesting said to disable IPV6 security option, but the way they described the fix was to access thry the EDIT menu then Preferences, but my system does not have Preferences under Edit.

My one iCloud email account has been working fine in TB for months. Today sometime TB (115.8.0) began unsubscribing all but a few of my iCloud email folders, including "Sent", "Trash" &c. All other email accounts in the client are unaffected. I resubscribed all of the folders, but they keep unsubscribing - that is, the subscribe process isn't holding and the folders it retains seem random. All the mail and folders on iCloud.com are intact, but TB will show them (some or most of them) briefly, then unsubscribe all but a few. I've tried deleting the account entirely (including data in Thunderbird folder) and re-adding - the problem persists. I've been bale to solve this one. Anybody?

Do we have to delete all our TB email accounts and re-enter them into TB under the new Yahoo or can we just change the server settings on the existing Cox settings? I have been experiencing a problem with Cloudflare specifically on one site (character.ai) and when the verify you are human pops up. It takes me in a seemingly infinite loop. On the Cloudflare community site they say it could be because of things like adblock but even without any adblock or anything of the sort on it does the same thing. Sadly Cloudflare community doesn't support being used on Firefox. So maybe they don't support being used on Firefox in general? I have contacted the actual websites support but they don't seem to even read submitted inquiries because I never hear anything back from them except the automated message they received it. It is now preventing me from using certain things in general which as before it wasn't that big of a deal but recently they changed the site layout and still allowed you to use the old layout but the verification blocks you from using the old layout. The first one is one from a couple of weeks ago when it only effected me trying to open things in a separate tab and the second one is the newer one which prevents me from accessing the old layout. I'm not sure what to do about it since nothing I specifically could do to solve it has helped. I have opted into sharing data under troubleshooting IDK how well that'll help.
