I am sick of the unannounced updates that occur without prompting me. Edge doesn't do this and I'm fed up with Mozilla unannounced updates. Going to uninstall Firefox because of unannounced updates.

Gmail activity is blocked, all of a sudden on my Windows 10 PC. Why? I do not want to use Chrome, it is not secure. I don't want to be forced to use my cellphone every time I want to use Gmail. Please explain, and offer solutions, thanks!

I am using Firefox version 100.0.1 (64-bit) and whenever I try to search in the search bar it will not provide me with any search results. I stays on the same page it was on before I hit enter and the address for that website reappears. If I click on the drop down menu and select a website, it will take me to that website, unless the website is Google.

Firefox is up to date. All other sites work. Everything worked fine when i went to sleep, trying to do some research on youtube right now and all I get is the error message.

I've long used firefox for research using google scholar and science journals to directly import references into endnote. However, since the recent update (firefox v98) direct import of .ris files (endnote) is no longer possible. The only option is to download the file.

There is no option to configure these file extensions in settings, and no prompt asking how to handle them...only where to download.

Please recover this function, as firefox is becoming increasingly unusable (loyal firefox user since 2002).

I follow the instructions for setting a Primary Password (which is constantly being asked for!), but the page turns hazy and unaccessable when I click on the 3 dots and I never get to Options. What do I have to do now?

I'm highly suspicious of an extensions i downloaded a while ago. It has blocked facebook from tracking me as some websites i access automatically uses Facebook. When I checked the manager to make an exception for a website I was using, I don't see it there, not even to disable it. I even double checked if my only blocker, UBlock Origin is preventing it from showing but it's not even there either. So now I'm worried my data is compromised.

This morning YOPmail showed up on my windows 10 foxfire as a pinned tab. It claims to be an extension (chrome). Nowhere does anyone say it is malicious...but I want it gone and nowhere is there instructions on how to remove it...I have contacted the dev. we'll see...

It is my business computer and I don't like software, apps, code, extensions or add-ons that i cant get rid of.

Any help would be appreciated.

After i just updated Firefox to newest version .. I can not load any website anymore!!!!!! please make it so i can return to the previous version ASAP so everything works again.

Al those other solutions you guys give like clear cache disable en able etc don't work and take hrs of time

Follow the dialog at homelink.com to report an error with a garage door remote problem. Clicking on "Submit" gets a 404 error. I've had similar problems with other website dialogs, but usually the link is just ignored. For example rockler.com, when attempting to place an order - nothing happens. In both cases, switching to MS Edge works correctly.

I didn't know which topic to select. Just started the computer and there was a TrendMicro notice to restart my browser to complete an update -- I opened Firefox and it opened in two windows with notices about updates, but had lost all my tabs. Other times the situation is different, but the result is the same -- fifty or a hundred tabs gone -- I just noticed the toolbar is missing too so I'm going to send or submit this and turn it back on and see if that stupid extension that supposedly saves my tabs has saved anything, but often, when this happens, it hasn't saved anything for weeks! I've tried getting tech support from them but however these things works something isn't triggering it. One shouldn't need a CIS degree to be able to use a laptop. Thank you, you're awesome regardless.

I have noticed in a couple of websites, a link or text box does not appear in Firefox, but does in Chrome (unfortunately, I don't remember which site that was). Also I have tried to open my Citibank account (Citibank.com.au) but it comes up with an error and wont open, yet it does with Chrome. I would rather not use Chrome, but I may not have a choice if this problem is not addressed.

I was busy logging in to Firefox (today's update) using my account and wished to store my login info, but the link upon login was a long useless address specific to the post-login screen and related to adding more devices. I opened a new tab but this was, apparently, a sticky login and the new tab was logged in as well. I logged out of that tab with the obvious (hindsight) effect of interrupting the previous tab/s.

Long story short, the immediate effect was the message in the subject line of this mail. Firefox locked my account and I need it unlocked.

Hi, I got a new computer and need to sign in to my account but can't remember my long, auto-generated PW. How can I reset with out losing all my data? Is it possible to talk to a human on the phone? thanks, Tyler

OK I have been trying to go 100% Firefox for just a few months but with privacy and security as primary directive. It would be wonderful to just be in ine well moderated browser ecosystem and actually being able to have my preferences, interest and personal information centralized with eventual goal of digitally divorcing tech companies from my personal data. I still have to use a lot of different devies with varying OS and it literally took me two years to help Apple fix an AppleId problem. Now that I have that sorted out I have been hoping to move away from gmail entirely and eventually have my own mailserver but using icloud now for macs and pcs.

At a minimum it seems like even after forced manual I have not properly sync an imac with windows 10 PC. So to keep it simple I stay there but this morning when I typed into Firefox on my iMac its was google search not Duckduckgo. Not only have I synced it in firefox but icloud should be redudant and I had removed google from list of potential search engines. There seems to be some way for a hostile takeover of these settings and google connstant agressive intrusions asking for data is not just wrong or annoying its simply impossible to not have facebook or google track me beyond california digital privacy standards. The worst offender may be youtube. I want to fix the browser and sync my stuff. But I am also looking for extensions that will help me do that better.

I am pretty thorough and now just want to learn more and would like to believe one can have a semblance of privacy but it seems like it will be an adversarial experience when the companies that do can rollback privacy with clever tv ads. The 'providers' clearly do not give hoot about rules, preferences and laws designed to protect people's rights.. That is what is particulary frustrating. It is not a fair fight but a good one. I guess what I am wondering is if there are specific modules you could add to detect maybewhen an event like change in search engine occurs and whether logs may exist as to how or why the change was made. Even if it was an accidental quick through a popup in chromium or edge where I was always being cued to come back to Chrome. Logging out doesnt always seem to work so i tried syncing with and chrome with more or less same results. Very little actual control or at least a tendency to revert back to the data miners preferences over mine. I want to help stop that.
