Several days ago, my comcast email said it couldn't connect, and after trying a couple other things, I removed the account and tried to add it back on. When I try to add it as an IMAP account, it pulls up a window that loads for a minute then says "Unable to connect. An error occurred during a connection to localhost." On the thunderbird window where I entered my password, it says "Unable to log in at server. Probably wrong configuration, username, or password." I logged in on a browser, so I know the username and password are correct. I tried adding it as a POP account, and that worked fine, but I need it as IMAP.

I just started using my new MacBook Air, and when I try to use the trackpad to open read Gmail or click the calendar icon on Firefox, it doesn't respond. It works on Safari.

As per the photo, I try to click the calendar icon to open up my calendar and nothing happened.

I have both gmail and btinternet accounts feeding in to Thunderbird. I can send emails from my bt account but not from my gmail account. When I try to send a gmail message a pop up informs me that the out going server for gmail has timed out. I have checked the server settings for gmail's out going server and it is set up as Thunderbird states but the problem persists.

Can anyone help to solve this problem please?

This is a recent issue. If I send an email with no images and no attachments, it copies the email into my "sent" folder with no problem.

If I send an email with even a small attachment...it sends the email, but "times out" copying the message to the sent folder.

I've checked the account/server settings, they are exactly as recommended. I've changed the sent files to "other"...no difference. I deleted and reinstalled Thunderbird...no change.

Ideas?

I'm running Firefox which I compiled with vaapi support because I was trying to use hardware acceleration for videos, so I think this bug may have something to do with that. Every time I open a pdf file my browser instantly crashes. When I use troubleshoot mode I have no such issue. I then tried with a fresh all-default user profile with no add-ons, nothing, and still I crash when loading a PDF. Any pointers would be appreciated.

Starting a couple of weeks ago, I began noticing that occasionally (every 2-3 days usually), a few empty files appear in my c:\ folder (Windows 10, as up-to-date as Windows ever is). They have names like "wal3A7109C6" (no file extension). Usually 4-5 will be generated at the same time (ie, same timestamp, so within the same second).

When I first noticed them, I (nervously) deleted a batch with no apparent consequences - but I had to activate Administrator privileges to get rid of them. I ran virus scans but have seen nothing unusual.

A few minutes ago, I had Firefox open but minimized to the task bar. I also happened to have c:\ open in a Window I could see. As I tapped to expand the browser, another of the files appeared, and the browser window behaved oddly for a moment, as though about to crash. The last few versions - I'm at 125.0.3 (64 bit) - have been crashing more than I'm accustomed to, but this is the first time I'd considered the browser to be a likely suspect.

Does anyone have any clues/possibilities to offer? It would be much appreciated.

May I first say that trying to get hold of you to make this report was painful, and took about 20 minutes and a long walk around Mozilla's assorted website, opening two accounts, etc.

I received a notice while using Firefox on PC that an update was available. I was going to put it off, as I had 25 tabs open, but the notice indicated that my open tabs would be restored once the update was complete, so I approved the update. It download and I assume installed the update, seemed to temporarily close Firefox, and then reopened the original page with all my open tabs, plus an empty page. When I tried to open the tabs shown, they all indicated that the tab had crashed and then gave me the option of restoring that tab or on some restoring all tabs. Neither worked, in fact, that Firefox page became completely unresponsive and would not allow me to browse new urls (the tabs just spun). I actually had to use MS Edge to get to anywhere to seek out someplace to make a report. I first went to the discussion group and opened up an account there, but from there noticed that feedback on Firefox was at a different url. I then needed to create an account "here". Since nothing was working, I closed and reopened the Firefox page with all the tabs on it, figuring maybe it would restore the crashed tabs. It did not and all tabs were lost. I can probably get back to some of them using the history archive, but it was very disappointing and will be even more time consuming. I am running the current version of Win 10 pro, 64 bit, on a PC. I thought you would want to know about this. Thank you for your time.

tooooooooo slow. I waited 36.6s until http response for every new URL open! Of course, I am using a lot of Firefox extensions, but there were no serious problems outside of YouTube, and the same problem occurred after removing the extension, and i also confirmed that the problem caused by web extensions on waterfall(on firefox profiler) was minor.

I can't even guess the cause of the problem, so unfortunately there seems to be no additional information that I can give you. I'll keep following up as long as I can. I will attach some pictures that might help you solve the problem. and you can also approach to my full-recorded firefox profiler data

Opened a directory of pdfs from the command line using ```firefox * &``` and went on with my work. Hi, I have Windows 11, Intel processor, 64 Gb RAM, TBytes of SD storage. Lately I have been experiencing issues displaying email with attachments. It is intermittent, but occurs when I display an email with one or more attachments such as PDFs. I have a preview window open to the right of my mail list. If I click on the item in the list I see a properly formatted email in the preview window .. for a few seconds. Without me touching anything, the mail converts to HTML and the attachment is gone. Redisplaying the item goes right to HTML. Further, the HTML has nothing to do with the original message. If I go to my mail server the original item might still be there, but it might be gone. I have not seen a pattern to determine why some are gone. I need to solve this. I don't see this problem described in previous posts.

Attachments: tbird_before.jpg - preview email with attachment (personal data obscured) a few seconds later it switches to tbird_after.jpg and I cannot get the email back.

I have a 2019 Macbook Pro 16" and whenever I share a FireFox window on facetime, I'm unable to stop sharing it until I end the Facetime call. Even then, the sharing screen notification still appears in the top right in the menu bar and I'm unable to share my screen for future Facetime calls unless I restart my laptop (thus removing the problem). Is this a known issue, and is there a way to fix it other than restarting my laptop?

What strategies or technologies has the Firefox platform implemented to ensure efficient memory management and minimize resource consumption, particularly in handling large-scale web applications and multimedia content?

I have Thunderbird 125.0 (64-bit) on Win 11.

Everything works perfectly, BUT..

If I select File->Exit then it just goes into not responding mode and I have to end task to restart TB.

If I just click X then the window closes but If I click my thunderbird icon to bring it back up, nothing happens.

I often have multiple TB processes which I have to kill.

On system restart, everything is fine unless I try to exit TB.

In case it matters, I have private ISP email acc, and 1 hotmail and 1 gmail acc.

Any thoughts appreciated.

I have used Firefox for many, many years and have always loved it. Recently, it stopped loading some websites. I have read and tried everything I have read and still can't fix the problem. I have to switch to Edge to load the sites. I am tearing my hair out trying to get this fixed, but I will have to use other browsers if this doesn't get cleared up. Some sites load and most don't, but there is no rhyme nor reason to what it loads and what it doesn't. I do not have a great deal of tech know-how and cannot seem to fix this according to my research. I get no "error" messages except that the page can't load. Please help. I would hate to have to learn another browser.

My TB repeatedly downloading all the emails in my Inbox, it is slowing down TB and can't access and reply to current email due to it. Is there any solution to it without losing my data?

I've been trying to connect to discord for a while, left it on for 2 hours and hasnt loaded. when i opened the console log, all it said was "Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at wss://gateway.discord.gg/?encoding=json&v=9&compress=zlib-stream" all over. Please help.

Apparently the latest Thunderbird update is causing our Windows 11 print spooler to stop. I've seen this problem talked about elsewhere but have not seen a solution. The spooler has to be restarted, otherwise no app/program will print, since only Print to PDF is then available. This is making Thunderbird almost useless to us. Help.

I am using Firefox 125 in Windows 11. And this just happens recently.

Sometimes, quite frequently, when I click the addressbar wanting to input or select a new address. The Firefox UI freezes (before the dropdown list of addresses is shown). The video/audio/other effects are still working, and from task manager, it does not cost more CPU/mem than usual. But it does not response to key press or mouse action. All I can do (that I know of) is killing the processes. The problem does not seem related to "current" webpage I am browsing. And I have not installed new addons for a few months.

Any idea what should I look into?

I see my original question is now archived at https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1380948#question-reply I never closed it because I didn't know if my last process could really fix the issue. It didn't, not always. Over the years, there have been times when the issue would still pop up, but not as often as before (2022 and earlier).

I have a feeling that during an issue, FF is having difficulty setting up shop after starting up. Consequently, it is spending more time before it could become prepared to connect to the Net. I've come up with another "solution," which is deleting (or moving out) xulstore.json in the profile folder after exiting or before starting FF. You can create a batch command or script to execute the process.

So far, FF is connecting immediately after startup.
