Hello Firefox community,

Today I was trying to write a message and needed to change the language for spellchecki9ng a bunch of times and got super annoyed by the fact that Although I use 3 languages in my every day live I cant find a way to remove all the other dialects that I nether use nor will use ever like English (Zambia) or Spanish (Guatemala).

Is there a way to have only a few and not all 20+? I use:

  • Spanish (Spain)
  • Catalan (Valencia)
  • English (United Kingdom) / (US)

Thanks.

I'm using Firefox v114.0.2 as a RPM in Fedora 38 I've also added some pictures for y'all to see

Every time I open my home page, which is google, the address bar automatically fills in the following string https://www.google.com/ . Then, as the cursor is already there, if I start typing, it just types before that string and does not take me where I want to go.

On my son's firefox homepage, the address bar is always blank and that is what I need this to be.

How do I make sure my address bar is completely blank when I open a new tab or go to my homepage?

Greetings:

Win11Enterprise_X64 , Firefox 114.0.2 (64-bit). Restart in safe mode yields the same result.

"Clear Cache and cookies": Now, I very often have this issue. I have 38 auto-logged in pinned tabs, of various sites, most of primary importance. Clearing the cookies ... is not quite an option, as this logs me out, what means, I have to manually log in to each site I am logged into right now.

Seeing this is a returning issue, which in my case happens quite a whole lot, and often to others (though likely in less amounts due to the fact I have many sites auto-logged in pinned and open)( I am wondering:

What exactly causes this? And since this is a recurring issue, not just for me, how come this has not been solved yet? I mean, there has to be a way, it can be fixed, right?

Seeing I do not add new extensions, and those I have do not update that often, it is not the add-ons. This is further proven by the fact that Safe Mode yields the same result.

Thus ... it is either caused within Mozilla Firefox, OR some site giving out "naughty cookies" that kill the button functions.

If the first: Then Mozilla has to fix this. If the latter, then Mozilla can create a system that "nukes" the naughty cookies. Call it for instance "The Sinterklaas Protection" (It's the Dutch Santa Claus version, who has a bag to put "naughty kids" in. Seems fitting. bagging "Naughty Cookies").

Thoughts?

Also, is there a way we can overcome this, an add-on or such?

Thank you: Xog.

Up until 2 weeks ago (so middle of June 2023) I had no issues with Firefox. However, since then I cannot open any 'GoogleAds' suggestions/links when searching products etc on my Acer Aspire Laptop (2023)?

I have Windows 11, Google is my nominated browser and my antivirus program is the same as when it was working OK.etc?

Non GoodleAds links, seem to work fine

As I don't know the exact date accessing the links/suggestions stopped working, I have no idea as to whether any Windows update has caused the issue with Firefox?

I can find my way round a computer, but I am not computer technically minded.

Any help would be appreciated as I am disabled and bedridden, so the internet is my key to the world.

I have just completed a new computer with new Windows 11 and fresh dowhload of Firefox and was very dissappointed to find that the Firefox font sizes on the menu and toolbars were very difficult to read because of their small size. Most of the available settings in Windows and firefox to increase the font size resulted in making the web pages and fonts bigger as well. Looking through the the Firefox help pages this seems to be a common problem that lacks a satisfactory solution - untill now.

I solved the problem by going into about:config and making the following changes: 1. Make sure that Browser.Display.OS-zoom-behaviour is set to 1 2. Set Layout.css.devPixelsperPx to 1.3 ( or between 1.1 to 1.5 to suit) 3. Set ui.textScaleFactor to 75 ( or between 75 to 100 to suit, decrease this number as you increase previous)

This solved the problem for me and I'm posting in the hope others may find this usefull.

I've been using Firefox on my M1 iMac for a year and all of a sudden when I leave the browser open for several hours or overnight, when I go back to it, it will not refresh or allow me to go to new sites. I am forced to quit the browser and open it again to get it to work. I'm am fully updated on my MacOS and have the latest Firefox version 114.0.2 (64-bit).

I tried uninstalling the browser and reinstalling it but the same issue returns. Is this a known issue?

I prefer to keep the browser open but will have to close it until a solution is found.

Thanks for any help or suggestions.

Whenever I search on the Amazon site and click on a product I am interested in, Firefox blocks that original page with an identical one. It isn't a tab, but a totally new Firefox as if I started another session. When I close it, the Amazon search shows, identical to the fresh session was. It is so annoying. I do not see that happening on anything else.

The issue relates to copy and pasting images into Whatsapp Desktop. The issue has only been present since they moved from an exe to a Windows Store installation. Whatsapp do not believe it's an issue on their end.

Here's a reddit thread with a few users experiencing the same: https://old.reddit.com/r/whatsapp/comments/13xcbrd/webp_images_not_displayed_in_chat_since_recent/

When right-clicking and copying an image, regardless of whether it's JPG or PNG etc, it doesn't copy the image in, it copies a html document that seems to be a reference to the location of the image. I have attached a picture of what that looks like. It also claims to be a webp, which the original image usually isn't, so perhaps it's some conversion causing the issue?

example for testing: https://old.reddit.com/r/facepalm/comments/14r2j66/smart_watch_for_not_so_smart_guy/

I have tested this with multiple browsers and the issue is present only in Firefox and Waterfox. Chrome/Edge/Opera dont have the issue. I have also disabled all browser extensions, to see if one is interferring, no dice. Issue still present.

I hope you can help here, this is very frustrating. I dont want to move away from Firefox, i've used it since I was a teenager. Happy to help in any way I can.

I have Homes Assistant running on a Raspberry pi. Local network. This started with the 6/20/2023 update to FireFox. I login to Home Assistant "http://XXXXXXX/lovelace/jart". All good. I select "Setting". Opens same page "http://XXXXXXXX/config/dashboard". all good. I select "Add-ons" "http://XXXXXXXXX/hassio/dashboard" all good. I return to settings and make another (any) selection say "People" "http://XXXXXXXX/config/person". All good. I return to Setting and select "Add-ons" and "http://XXXXXXXXX/hassio/dashboard" and it never connects? Just spins? I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox. I uninstalled and reinstalled Home Assistant. I can follow the same procedure with Chrome and do not have a problem. All sites opens. I have used Firefox since setting up the Home Assistant server, about 3 years.

I have a PC - a Macbook Air and an ipad. I am looking for direction on how or if it is possible to have all three set up with common products to maximise my security and invisibility and limit tracking by programs, websites, (preferably product that "syncs) programs for browsing, email I am NOT on social media but I am really tired of getting profiled when I click on or search a product or service or a health article in my browser and suddenly I magically start getting emails related to those searches. The online advice that I have searched is anything but consistent in its response. Obviously I believe my Browser should be Firefox, but after that things get really muddy. I even asked two different IT guys at my head office and did not get

Right I have tried 2 things one making a Junction link, symbolic link and install directly to the N drive a SSD instead of having Firefox installed on the C drive.

Everything else is moved to the N drive using Junction and I mean everything Firefox related.

But for some reason the second Firefox is either installed, Junction or non junction symbolic link to that N drive does Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ act up.

Amazon Prime first it simply won't play videos just keep giving a error message. Disney+ the same as amazon prime.-

Netflix however goes even further, not only does it constantly log me out yes you read it log me out it also fails to play videos either because I was logged out or because internet issues or Firefox is not supported errors.

Either way 100% nothing works on those 3 sites, yet everything else works YouTube, BBC, ITV and more everything else works perfect.

Now the second I install Firefox back on C drive remember only the actual Firefox installation is on the C rest is still linked to the N drive and now magically Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+ works perfectly as they should.

Anyone got a idea of why this happens or can cause this?
