'System theme — auto' does not work and causes CPU usage 100% I noticed this July 1 an increase in CPU usage of up to 100% when viewing videos on YouTube from Mozilla. I removed all my add-ons without improvement. I noticed that this phenomenon did not occur when viewing in 'full screen' but only in a window. By disabling the 'System theme — auto' theme, the problem disappeared. I noticed that this theme was updated to version 1.3 today July 1st. I add that this theme, which is supposed to follow the system theme, does not work correctly under Windows 10 when, as for my system personalized theme have been set. I have ‘title bar and windows borders’ in green option for active windows and in purple for inactive windows. Mozilla displays the 'title bar' in black.

After the Firefox update to 114.0.2 on my WIndows 10 desktop computer, the display of the Google Voice website became all garbled and vertical scrolling stopped working, making it impossible to read new next messages. My laptop, which has been turned off and has not taken the update, is still running the previous version and does not have the problem. I'm wondering if others have had the same issue.

There at least 3 websites now that I cannot open, straighttalk.com, kbb.com, and redbox.com. Last month I could open these websites, before that I could not, now I cannot again. I have had this problem for months. I have emptied my cache, I keep firefox up to date, and I have restarted my computer and browser multiple times. This is the error message I get from straighttalk.com:

Access denied Error 15 www.straighttalk.com 2023-06-26 13:48:00 UTC

This is the error message I get from kbb.com Access Denied You don't have permission to access "http://www.kbb.com/" on this server.

This is the error message I get from redbox.com 403 ERROR The request could not be satisfied. Request blocked. We can't connect to the server for this app or website at this time. There might be too much traffic or a configuration error. Try again later, or contact the app or website owner. If you provide content to customers through CloudFront, you can find steps to troubleshoot and help prevent this error by reviewing the CloudFront documentation.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you Nicki

I seem to be unable to suddenly access Bing.com for some reason. I'm getting a Secure Connection Failed error. I thought it was a simple downtime but it isn't. I'm also not seeing a security certificate. Check down detectors and its just me. So what gives? It was fine yesterday. I pretty much checked everything. no proxy's or anything.

This is driving me crazy and also interrupting my work.

Just updated to Firefox 114 from version 113 on Fedora 37 and spotted difference in the font rendering using the old profile.

On Firefox 114, the fonts are larger. I could not make it the same as in Firefox 113, despite all the configuration in the profile is the same. Downgrading to Firefox 113 return the previous font size/rendering.

However, in Firefox 114 there's a font difference even between my old profile and fresh new profile. The font configuration in the settings is exactly the same between these two profiles (default profile, Latin and Cyrillic — the same font families, sizes, checkboxes, i've even checked about:config options searching by "font" — all the same).

Check the screenshots.

Hail all:

Now, I have 2 Google accounts: My private one, and a Corporate Account, used for work. I always signed out of my normal window from the active account to the Corporate Account and vice versa, depending on which I needed to check. A common occurrence for many people.

But I noticed long ago, that in Private Window ... I seem to be signed out, opening Google in it. I use Private Window to avoid unnecessary clutter from sites dropping their stuff on my Temp folder. I hate clutter ... severe Asperger's.

I was thinking ... if I keep my private Google Mail on the prime non-Private window, can I sign in while this is open (and stays open) into my Corporate account in my Private Window?

If so, this would save me quite a bit of hassle, having to log out several times a day from my main, private account/mail and into the Corporate account mail, and when done vice versa to me private account mail.

Thank you.

To resolve an issue that has been plaguing me, I did a clean install of Firefox. I followed some instructions I found on here that ensured that all I had to do was rename the existing Firefox folder to something else, download and run the installer again, and I should have done a clean install without losing my user data.

The issue I had has been fixed, but all of my add-ons and bookmarks are gone. I can get the add-ons back, but where can I find the bookmarks in the old Firefox folder?

With the last update I suddenly have the url/search box background and its search results drop down background set to an ugly pink with diagonal lines.

I am visually impaired and now its almost impossible to use firefox because I can't read the text on top of the diagonal colored bands. There doesn't seem to be any settings to turn on or off this appearance.

I will have to switch browsers until this is fixed and I don't want to.

When using Noto Sans Egyptian Hieroglyphics font and writing-mode: vertical-lr; the characters appear shifted up by ~10%, thus appearing partially outside their parent element. All hieroglyphics do this (here using (U+13000)), but only with Noto font.

Tested on versions 114.0.2 and 79.0esr, on different machines, new installs, old installs, even the mobile version. Chromium-based browsers don't have the issue. Images show character inside a div (with borders), the same character highlighted, and Chrome screenshot for comparison. TO REPRODUCE just import and set Noto Sans Egyptian Hieroglyphics and writing-mode: vertical-lr/vertical-rl/tb/tb-rl. A bordered div around the characters might be useful.

Hi!

So I'm currently using Google Authentication for my Firefox 2fa codes. However, that app is stuck offline and there is no way to get it to connect back online. I'm thinking of using another app to generate the Firefox codes. However, if I do so, by scanning the Firefox generated QR code to set up the code in the app, will this result in;

1. Having to generate a new backup code for Firefox (recovery key) 2. Voiding the generated keys on the other app I am using.

Thank you!

Hello, I have two websites that I've designed with cursive fonts in some headers. Whereas they display in other browsers, they do not display in Firefox. I asked this question years ago, and to date, no one has provided an answer.

Not only do the headers not display the cursive font: savoye let and allura, what they show are enlarged and bold letters that completely destroy the design. Surely, there is a reason for this.

Here is one of the sites (the other is still in design mode): https://summitlighthousephoenix.org

I'm unable to verify my Mac to log into my Chase bank account, since I last cleaned out my cookies. When I enter my verification code and password, the fields revert to blank rather than submitting. I've cleaned my cache and cookies, restarted my browser, spoken to Chase reps... but it seems the issue is the browser. Firefox is the only browser I have this problem with.

It was suggested to me that Total Cookie Protection is not allowing Chase to verify, but I toggled off Enhanced Tracking Protection on the site, as well as adding exceptions as many of Chase's secure servers as I've seen (the exceptions in the attached screenshot go way past 7...), and I still can't verify and log in.
