TB version: 115.1.0 (64-bit) Windows 10 (corporate laptop)

Fresh laptop, fresh install of TB.

When trying to connect email@example.com (not really my email), TB correctly detects that my domain is hosted at Google, configures IMAP and SMTP for OAuth2, and pops up the window to authenticate.

Instead of an authentication prompt, I'm met with this error:

Thunderbird detected a potential security threat and did not continue to accounts.google.com because this website requires a secure connection.

I shut down my PC for 3 days early July, -rebooted on july 5 , new version of Thunderbird was installed since then I cannot complete the new configuration - agrees the account is good, but fails to complete. I have replaced the new version w/ newest version on july 12 , same result - cannot complete setup , fails w/ error message "Unable to login at server- probably configuration , user name or password "

I downloaded the last version of Thunderbird using OS Ubuntu 22.04 LTS. I can't get past ./configure. "not found" I'm disappointed that I finally made a donation. Ron

Why did you upgrade my software. Now I can't send any emails. What the h did you do, and would you please stop changing the software if it's working!!!!!! I DIDN'T NEED ANY UPGRADES, IT WAS WORKING JUST FINE!!!! Everything keeps timing out. F you. I can't send anything!!!!!!!!!!!1

I posted a couple days ago, but what I posted was confusing and convoluted, so I am trying to be more concise this time. I need to have the Thunderbird (TB) eMail on both my work and home computer. It is already on my work computer and I have copied the TB eMail to a USB according to what I found on here, and have checked and all the files appear on the USB. I have tried to get the TB eMail on my home computer now, with that USB, but can not, no matter what I try. I have downloaded the TB eMail from the Mozilla site to my home computer several times; deleted it to try again; and have cleared everything out every time I do. However EVERY time now, I am getting an error message that the Profile Setting Can Not Be Found.....specifically it says " Your Thunderbird profile cannot be loaded. It may be missing or inaccessible." in a pop up window. I don't know how to get rid of this so that it does not pop up every time - because again, it pops every time even after I delete the TB completely. If someone could guide me on how to get the TB on my home computer without that popping up, and how to proceed from there, because I do have all those files on the USB, it would be GREATLY appreciated!!! Thank you in advance for any help!!!!!

I'm sorry if this topic has already been answered.....and I know it has.....but I have been reading and trying things for almost 3 hours.....I need help!!! I have at work the Thunderbird eMail that goes through a different server. I followed the directions and copied the "Moving Thunderbird Data to a New Computer" to a flash drive. I used that and have all the files that were on it, now on my at home computer. It appears that everything is good up to that point. I even get the window that shows that Thunderbird recognized my other server's setup, however when I choose "OK" it gives me an error message that it is already on the server. I can see the Thunderbird email system on my home computer. But I can't get it to show any of the emails that I know are there from my work computer and I can't get it to download. I'm not sure if I have been clear enough, but I hope either someone can help me with what I have provided--or provide me with directions on how to do the install--EASY directions--because I'm unable to follow what I have found so far. And a reminder--I do still have all the files that I copied to the flash drive--so I could start all over again, and it would not be a problem. THANKS SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!!!

Is there an adjustment I can make to stop this?

I upgraded my MacBook Pro operating system and now have a message that thunderbird app is damaged and needs to be put in trash. Can I trash it and reinstall without losing my data? Thanks in advance for the help!!

1. I am customer of Ionos, formerly 1&1, who host my email address.

2. Ionos have advised me I will be unable to download emails from their server after 25 April unless the email program supports TLS1.2 or higher and they said Thunderbird version 52.00 supported TLS1.2 or higher.

3. I have 2 PCs with Windows XP SP3 and 1 laptop with Windows Vista. Ionos say the only email program I will be able to use after 25 April using the latter 3 devices to download emails from their server is Thunderbird version 52.00.

4. Is there now any means by which one may install Thunderbird version 52.00 onto a PC with Windows XP SP3 or, alternatively, a laptop with Windows Vista?

I am working with Thunderbird 102.8.0 on Linux Mint 21.1 Vera base: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy.

Maybe you don't need all that - I'm brand new to all this and don't know much at all! I don't understand, for ex. why it doesn't say "Cinnamon" up there, since that's what I'm using for Linux Mint, but anyway...

I use Protonmail, and have finally gotten the protonmail bridge to work with Thunderbird. I have exported my contacts from Protonmail's webmail as a vCard. I saved the card in my downloads folder and I have opened the document to make sure it isn't blank - it looks like everything is there.

When I go through the import steps in Thunderbird, though, nothing imports. I have tried several times, shut down TB, opened it again - nothing there.

Can anyone help? Thank you!
