I have Firefos OS 1.0.1.0-01003 and I have seen that Firefox 1.1 has been released, I try to check for updates and it says that my system is up to date. I read somewhere that rebooting the phone solves it but that didn't work.

Why my system doesn't detect the update? Do I have to call my service provider or manufacturer about that?

Still no One Touch Fire 1.1 update in Poland. When community in Poland from www.myfirefoxos.pl send e-mail direct to Alcatel about 1.1 update, Alcatel reply, but about Android and not a word about Firefox OS... :-/

I hope update will be very soon avaiable in Poland, because Poland community is very disappointed, almost no positive emotions, both because Alcatel slowness and current state of Firefox OS in 1.0.1 version (many people even sell Alcatel on Allegro few days after buyed it from T-Mobile).

We need 1.1 very soon, because Firefox OS 1.0.1 very often freeze totally few times in a row and only removing battery helps, lacks of many needed options (ex. how to save contants ON SIM there is only imprort FROM SIM, saving files in internet browser etc).

It stops to being funny, because ZTE have 1.1 and Alcatel can't even reply to Polish community with sense about Firefox OS.

Very, Very dissapointing...worst phone I've ever had... nothing works right in current state and there is no info about 1.1 for Fire... It's hard to say, but I've migrated to FOS from Symbian because I've wanted to develop apps for FOS, but after what I've seen, I've lost energy to write even one line of code for FOS :-( It's hard to named it a phone, it's hardware with operating system in early beta at least... :-(

I already received yesterday the update!! :D Finally I got Firefox OS 1.1. To make things clear is that it's not fault of mozilla, Jusko. Your phone has version 1.0.1. The 3rd "1" means that your system has a layer made by your phone company (for me was Movistar). Your phone company surely received the update, they should be right now installing their layer, that layer contains the info how the phone connects to their network, splash screen, etc. So you must be patient until your provider finish to make and install that layer, and your Firefox OS will receive the notification as normal when it's ready

Yes, i know, it's not Mozilla fault but Alcatel... but updates for Fire should be pushing a little faster, because ZTE Open have 1.1 already and some countries for Alcatel too, but Poland - still not, and that's stop to being funny - people are not bling and many of us, FOS community in Poland, stoped believing in Mozilla fairy tales about often updated, because Mozilla will release new versions of FOS, but who know that Alcatel will?

I'm not joking - in Poland, Firefox OS from that reason really met with a wave of criticism and people sell their Alcatel's Fire, even very cheap, just to say good bay Alcatel and Firefox OS :-( T-Mobile launch great FOS promo campaign in Poland, but people returning to T-Mobile and gave back Alcatel's or sell it in internet. And that is not good for Mozilla, because Alcatel ruin their vision of FOS in people's eyes... And there was only one chance to make positive first impressions - in Poland well...it failed...both because Alcatel slowness and really bad/unstable/lack of options 1.0.1.

If Alcatel will be so slow all the time, then we'll never get 1.2 or hell - 1.3, because Alcatel will stop supporting Fire to that time (well, it's low budget phone, so Fire will not be supported very long like top-seller phone) :-/ Hell, we even not know Alcatel policy about how long Fire will be reciving new updates :-/

Maybe it's T-Mobile Poland fault - no one know's, because T-Mobile said it's Alcatel Fault, Alcatel said about Android in reply to our e-mail about Firefox OS, so We really even don't know who for sure provides updates for Us in Poland :-/

Some may say that this and previous post's of mine are unfair and malicious, but community in Polad are really dissapointed and upset for Mozilla and Alcatel.

I can confirm all that Jusko wrote. We are really disappointed in Poland about FirefoxOS - you can go and buy the phone for 1/3 or even 1/4 of its initial price. Currently no one want to buy it anymore. Things are going really bad and because of huge delay of the update FirefoxOS will finally fail at all in Poland in short time.

I'm from Colombia and I haven't been able to update to 1.1 version for the same reasons. I hope they update it soon.

WOW! There is a country where update has been delayed longer than in Poland?!?!? OMG!!!

I found the Upgrade Software (Mobile Upgrade Q 4.0.7) in support page of Alcatel: http://www.alcatelonetouch.com/global-en/support/download/one_touch_fire.html

Now, the Firefox OS version is "1.1.0.0-prerelease" in my Alcatel One Touch Fire. And the Firmware Revision is 02002.

My Firefox OS 1.0.1.0 still tells me that it's up to date... Yes, still. I've read, that many people could actually manage to update their OS (for good or worse), so maybe I'm dumb or something... Or as Jusko said: update is not available in Poland yet (that's what I understood)?

hello Youlo, unfortunately there were issues for some users who have updated their One Touch Fire to 1.1, so further updates were put on hold until this issue is getting resolved between alcatel and mozilla developers.

more options

Well it's not "issues for some users" - 9 of 10 Alcatel's Fire in Poland is almost bricked (mine too...). How could it happened? :-/ FOS crashing few times in one minute (system rebooting) with text "Firefox OS has crashed" :-/ Did someone tested 1.1 before released? :-/ It's my first and last phone with Firefox OS - Im not a beta-tester, I've paid for my Alcatel Fire and I must paying T-Mobile for 2 years (contract) and what I've got? Bricked phone. Thank You!

Mozilla, it was big fail :-/ In Poland - well... It may be no second chance, user's are not blind and people's mosty hate Firefox OS (both because FOS low quality and screwed 1.1 update). Symbian 6.1 in my Siemens SX1 from 2003 year is more advanced than FOS in 2013 o_O

hello Jusko, sorry for all those issues. i'm just a normal user like you and don't know the details about this situation or how close it is to being resolved. the last thing i've heard this week is that mozilla's developers wanted to get their hands on an affected device...
i'll try to escalate the issue and get someone from the mozilla firefox os team to reply (but now it's a us holiday and weekend, so it might take a few days).

more options

Thank You :-) I can send my affected Fire to Mozilla if someone give me new Fire ;-) But I'm from Poland, so it might be a little complicated :-)

I'm a little upset, because from 2013.11.12 when update was relased in Poland (after delayed when many countries have it alredy) I have almost bricked phone, I can't use it and no one know's when issue will be fixed (and T-Mobile can't help me because 1.1 is the problem so there is nothing they can do). I've buyed Alcatel Fire for well..some money...and it was not so cheap low-budget phone that everybody talk and that's the problem (Alcatel price + T-Mobile price = end user price) - i buyed phone that I can't use :-(

more options

also, from a consumer rights point of view - if you have bought the phone from t-mobile and are in contract with them, they should take and repair the phone or exchange it for a working model if it got bricked through an update. would it be possible for you to take it into the shop you've bought it from?

more options

I second that. I didn't get an update (thank You, God!), but what FOS 1.0 has to offer is... "poor" - that's a good word for that. No MMS, not a chance to set my own ringtone, not to mention a fact, that if I have a blocked screen - I'll recieve notification about a new SMS AFTER I unblock the screen. I mean... what the hell? And just as Jusko, I bought Alcatel One Touch Fire with FOS from T-Mobile. I have signed a contract. And I will have to pay for using a phone that DOESN'T meet my minimum requirements... Only thing that comforts me is that my phone actually works, but just becouse I didn't had a chance to update. Sheesh, where's the logic? And I'll need to agree with some people: FOS needs to be updated (but I mean updated, not "up-to-screw-my-phone-dated") pretty quick, as it will not have a bright future on Polish (and not only Polish) market. Also repeating the same old "Our developers, engineers and other Firefox OS departments are working hard (...)" over and over again as an answer to every question about the update is not getting us, or anyone in that matter, anywhere (didn't mean to be rude, it's "sad but true").

Cheers!

Yes, I can take it to T-Mobile, but if I get new one - it will be my third Alcatel Fire (first model stopped working 6 days after buyed). But T-Mobile can't do much - I don't want new one, because using 1.0.1 is a trauma (I've switched from Symbian S60v5 on Nokia C6 and C6 had everything so it was a really shock for me when I saw that FOS is...really...really poor. I thought FOS will be something like Android and that thinking was the reason why I was so dissapointed).

Second - if T-Mobile take it for re-flash, they probably install 1.1 and we get back to the start. If they install 1.0.1 again, well...it will be better idea to buy some new phone instead of using 1.0.1. And even if they take it for re-flash or diagnose - I don't have second phone, and I don't know how it is on other countries, but in Poland it take's about a month of waiting to get back phone again :-/ That's the problem :-(

Third - even if I take it to T-Mobile, it won't solved my problem (and many other user's too), because 1.1 is the problem and Mozilla both with Alcatel must fix it.

Jusko: MMS will be available in version 1.1. I apologize that you are having complications with the device but if you open a brand new question so we can keep track of your issue and assist you better, that would be greatly appreciated. Ask a new question here.

In regards to version 1.2 and 1.3. Version 1.2 has not been finalized and so 1.2 has not been officially released - I don't have 1.2 as well so there is no need to panic as once again, it is not in it's final stages yet but it's getting there quickly.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation and sorry for any inconvenience.

+1, no update in UK/US either. 1.0.1 is alpha at best. However maybe this is to be expected? I feel sorry for the third world experience for the third world. My biggest gripe? 1.0.1 is unstable.

It just hitted me... Is it just me, or FOS doesn't support Flash? And another thing: no adblock, really?

Hope that update 1.1 will fix it...
