I just upgraded to ver. 18.0 If there isn't a way to remove the Yahoo logo please direct me to re-installing the most recent previous version. Thank you.

Chosen solution

The Yahoo logo is just part of the customizable themes of Firefox. Go to the Firefox menu, select Add Ons then select the Appearance tab. Select the theme you want or choose "remove" to get rid of the Yahoo theme. There should be a Default theme in the list. You can also go to Mozilla Firefox site and download other themes or even create your own.

Hell reinvent,

Thank you for posting here on the Mozilla Support Forums! We appreciate you as a user of Firefox!

Are you referring to the search engine "search bar" in the top right or something else? Could you please provide a screenshot?

Thanks!

The Yahoo logo I'm talking about isn't in a tool bar; I tried to "customize" my view but this logo area isn't an option that I could see. It's floating by itself in the upper right corner, not in a tool bar, just the Yahoo! word logo like you see everywhere. I'd rather not be marketed to by my web browser but maybe it's just the way it is in this newest version of firefox. And if so I will go back to the most recent version if I can find out how to do that... Thanks for the link to create a screenshot. I think I got it right.

Hey reinvent, I know what that is. They call it a branded browser. In this case it's a Yahoo branded browser. For some weird reason, Firefox and Internet Explorer let companies package their browsers with the company logo and company toolbars.

So I've seen this before when using Yahoo mail. You get a notice saying you're using an old version of Firefox, please click here to update and get Firefox Optimized. Which is in fact a Yahoo branded version of Firefox.

Anyway to get the regular Firefox back, first uninstall the Firefox you have now. But do not select any option to erase your personal data. I think it says something like: Remove my Firefox personal data and customizations. Do not put a checkmark there. It will erase your bookmarks, passwords, settings, addons, pretty much all your Firefox stuff.

Then install Firefox from this link:

Noah_SUMO,

That's great, thank you so much. I'll give it a try and will be sure to not check the Remove personal data box.
