I was using Firefox 14 on Macosx10.58. Firefox crashes frequently, freezing my comnputer, not responding to force quit. also has been very slow. I have updated plugins, and cleared cache. I started of on firefox 14 an hour ago, only to find that after a freeze it reverted to Firefox 12. I uptdated Firefox again, and have reset to default. I have downloaded Flash more times than I ever believed possible. I always hated Safari, loved Firefox--but after YEARS of complaints by users, I dont see why you havent fixed these problems. If reset doesnt work, or no one can come up with a reasonable solution for me, I'm dumping firefox for another browser.

Did you install Firefox properly?

Make sure that Firefox gets installed properly.

Open the Firefox disk image (DMG) file and drag the Firefox program to the application folder on your hard drive. You shouldn't double-click the Firefox application to run it from the disk image, but drag it out of the DMG folder instead.

Firrefox 14 installed automatically. It has automatically reinstalled after inexplicably reverting to v12. It just froze on me--dont think thats the problem. I disabled Java at the request of the installer.

I've about had it-- this problem has reached a point where firefox, once far and away the best browser, is virtually unusable. You have had thousands of complaints from both Mac and Windows users and I personally have written multiple times for help to no avail. I dont understand, with all the technologic know how out there, that this has not been fixed. If I dont get a reply I'm done with Firefox. Am considering negative Yelp as well.
