Bookmarks not working (locked) when using same Windows Profile on multiple machines

My bookmarks are not working. I am using the same profile folder on two different machines (Desktop and Notebook) as I use the same Windows profile on both machines. The common profile folder is located on a third machine on our company network. Once I connect both machines to the network the bookmarks on one machine become unusuable as the other machine locks the bookmarks file. How can I manually unlock the bookmarks file places.sqlite? Renaming it and restarting FF does not help.
