Deleting firefox after downloading to my Mac

Hello: I do not have a problem with firefox, I am using a iMAC version: 10.6.7, I am interested in downloading the firefox browser but I am concerned it my conflict with my current installed software and Safari browser. I use to own a Dell desktop with Microsoft and MSN browser, I ran into problems when I tried to download firefox a few years ago. If I do not want to use firefox in the future can I delete the installation without causing any problems to my computer? Thanks, Gilbert
