so, perhaps some expectation of when flash will be included would be appropriate. vague references to 'its not supported' is not very professional...

Chrome 67 You are lucky you got a reply at all. You are talking in this forum to users just like yourself who are volunteering to help. These volunteers, some very expert, are not Firefox developers.

while I appreciate that vague response, it's still just that, a vague response. any professional organization sets expectations with their customers, I'm unclear as to why tthis is so hard to fathom....

chrome67, we are still investigating the problem to find out how much work it will take. We know it will not be ready in time for Firefox 5 (coming in June) or Firefox 6 (August). It will probably not be ready for Firefox 7 (scheduled for September or October 2011). It might be ready for one of the releases soon after that (we will release a new version every six weeks), but we can't promise anything yet.

The reason we don't know yet is that Flash for Android uses new and undocumented plugin API extensions, and we are basically reverse-engineering these from the Android Browser source code. Since there is no specification or documentation, this takes a bit of detective work. We also need to figure out whether these extensions can work well without modification in Firefox's multi-process architecture, or whether Flash itself will need changes to work with Firefox on Android without causing performance or stability problems.

Mozilla is a non-profit open source project, and all our work is done in the open. When we know more about this work, we will publish it at the link I posted above. Many "professional" organizations like Apple and Google do most of their work in secret and do not announce new features until development is complete. Mozilla is not like that - we are happy to answer any questions you have, even at this early stage of development.

chrome67, have you noticed that Firefox is free? That is because it is a volunteer effort. No one becomes a patent troll, no one gets rich. Sometimes you have to wait a while for features. Google "free and open source software" and educate yourself. Without it there would be no Linux kernel, no Android, and flash would not be a problem since the likes of Steve Jobs would get to decide whether (and when) you got it. And Steve HATES Flash...
