Why don't my bookmarks transfer when migrating Firefox 3.6 from my old Mac to another Mac?

When I use Migrating Assistant to transfer the contents of my PowerBook G4 to my MacBook Pro it transfers the application, but does not transfer my bookmarks. It reacts the same when I try using a thumb drive to transfer Firefox. I am making the transfer from MacOS X 10.4 to Mac OS X 10.6
