How can I get rid of a frozen updates window? I tried uninstalling/reinstalling latest software/rebooting. Window shows up whenever I try to open Firefox and will not close.

When I try to open Firefox I get an updates window for Cool Iris and Cool Previews. Options for 'skip', 'install,' 'more info,' 'x' to close window, nothing responds. I have to use the Mac 'Force Quit' command to close Firefox and get it off my screen. Can't minimize it either.
