I changed my margin settings in about:config from 12 to -1, however they keep bouncing back to 12.

I cannot print anything on the internet from Firefox. I contacted Live Chat and was told to go into about:config - margins - and reset my 12s. They reset to -1. I was able to print, however, they keep bouncing back to 12s and then I can't print. Is there a way to keep them at -1? Is it my printer? Can I save the settings once I reset them? This shouldn't be happening.
