Why am I not able to save the same bookmark into several different location folders in my bookmarks bar?

Why am I not able to save the same bookmark into several different folders in my bookmarks toolbar? I have many different folders of bookmarks, some of which overlap according to subject, and I would like to have a particular site stored in different places for easier access. When I try to save the same bookmark to a different folder, Firefox deletes the same bookmark from its previous location folder.
