One of my connected devices shows as having been used 2 years ago. Problem is, I use it every day. It's my phone. How do I update this, please?

Hi

Do you have your copy of Firefox for Android set to sync data? Which categories of data is it set to sync?

more options

Hello. Yes, I do. All categories. Thank you for your help.

Okay. Lets try something:

  1. In Firefox for Android, save a page as a bookmark.
  2. When you next start Firefox on another device signed into Firefox Sync, see if that bookmark has arrived (it should be in the Mobile Bookmarks folder by default). If you already have Firefox open, close it, wait a few seconds and reopen in.

Does the bookmark arrive?

No, that has never worked. All 3 devices usually each have different bookmarks. I've even synced them all at the same time. Weird. (Samsung tablet, Samsung cell, both Android 13, Hp windows 11 laptop.) Yet it's only my phone that isn't current. I do have internet security, plus a vpn, on each device. I try to have the vpn show Illinois,if possible.

All three devices are connected to the same Firefox Account and all have bookmarks set to sync?

more options

Yes, that's correct. I checked.

In theory, the bookmarks should be the same on all three devices - that is what Firefox Sync should do.

You may want to turn off Firefox Sync on one device, then reconnect that same device to your Firefox Account. This should then (after a short while) trigger it to connect to Firefox Sync.

Ok. Which one, please? My cell?

Yes, that would be a good place to start.

Hi. I just finished, no luck. Sometimes one page will go over. Huh.

more options

I am sorry, I do not know what you mean by "Sometimes one page will go over" - what is happening?

more options

Oh, I'm sorry. I meant, one individual bookmark might get transferred over, for no reason. All the other bookmarks are separate in each device. This has been going on for some time; I was hoping that an update would fix this. Hmmm

Fyi I'm on auto update.

The device that is not showing as connected, have you tried manually syncing it using the option in the Settings menu?
