How do I recover the messages and folder content of my email account?

After I launched the new Thunderbird 102 for Mac, I used the Message Filters tool on one of several of my email accounts. Prior to that its folders and messages were present. Attempting to filter message failed because the folder I had created was "missing." Then all the content of of the whole disappeared except for the Inbox and Junk.

I'm using IMAP. No changes were made by me in the Account Settings.
