IMAP unable to connect error message

Suddenly getting error message "Unable to connect to your IMAP server. You may have exceeded maximum connections to this server. Use Advanced IMAP server settings to reduce the number of cached connections" I am on Thunderbird version 91.12.0 I changed the cached connections number from 5 to 1. I turned off all devices and waited overnight. Still getting the unable to connect message today. What else can I try?
