Thunderbird: Can I change the storage location of Archive files?

I would like to change the location of the archive files for Thunderbird. I can pull up the settings and find where it says the storage location is, but I cannot type in the box. (reason: I am separating off client sensitive files to a vault - a removable USB drive - and many emails fall into this category as well. I've already found that if I move the files out of the archive directory, Tbird won't barf...it will just report empty archives, so I want to have the archives stored in the vault so they won't be there when the drive is unplugged.) I suspect I need to edit an INI file or some registry entry....I might try experimenting. Any help appreciated. Jeff Casey
