Firefox Sync on Windows 7 Not Accepting a Valid Password

I have synced my android phone and Windows 10 laptop. On trying to log in to the same valid firefox synch account on my old Windows 7 laptop, I get the error message "Invalid Password".

The sync works perfectly on the other two devices with same credentials. I also tried separately logging to accounts.firefox.com and got the same error.

Came across an old thread which suggested deleting certain files from the profile folder. Didn't work. Safe mode and Firefox refresh also didn't work. Please help.
