running 68.7.0 Thunderbird in Ubuntu the signature in replies and forward does not work

Thunderbird running version 68.7.0 in Ubuntu does not put the signature in reply or forward messages. Are there a bunch of ex Microsoft people writing this software. Get your head out of the sand and fix the problem! This is a simple issue and good reason not to donate! Maybe the solution is to re-install Windows and use Outlook? So much for GPL software. Your support is zero!
