Emails vanished after transferring profile to new computer

I have two email addresses on Thunderbird. I was able to get the primary one to work, but I still have problems with the secondary account on both computers.

I'm running Thunderbird 2.0.0.24 on the old comp. After the transfer, the inboxes of both accounts appeared empty, and I got the error message that they couldn't connect to website-archive.mozilla.org. I had taken the precaution of backing up the profile to a flash drive. When I copied it back to the comp, the inbox on the primary account was fixed. However, the inbox on the secondary account appeared to have contents just for a moment, and then they vanished as the error message came up again.

On the new comp with the latest Thunderbird, I wound up recopying the profile from the flash drive, creating a new profile, and then selecting the new profile as the one to be used. Again, that fixed the primary account. But the secondary account only downloaded the emails from Jan. 1 from the Earthlink server, not the whole 1300+. Also, all of the subfolders from the old comp copied to the new comp, but not one email from the inbox.

I'm running Win10 Home on both comps.

Any help would be most appreciated.
