immersive mode on androidand Galaxy S10

I have been trying forced immersive mode on Galaxy S10 and all I get is a black bar at the top of the app instead of a real immersive experience. I tried App Cloner and, although I do get a real immersive mode, the three-dots option menu is inactive; meaning, despite tapping on it nothing happens.

Any ideas out there?
