When I open Firefox on my Android phone I get a symbol at the top of the screen saying that Firefox is using battery, even after I close it.

I can only get rid of that symbol by Force Closing Firefox. Why can't Firefox simply stop using the battery when I close it, instead of having to Force Stop every time?
