I can't open media that uses acestream of vlc player when I click on the link in firefox firetv anymore. can you please fix the problem?

I used to be able to open media links in ACESTREAM and VLC when I click on the links in firefox from the internet. now I am getting the following error when I try to open links that requires external player:

net::err_unknown_url_scheme

I cleared cache, delete data, removed and installed firefox and the problem still there. can you please resolve this issue.
