Bookmarklets were ubiquitous though most browsers. They do not seem to work in Firefox for iOS in v8 (and above). Instead they are redirected to search. Such behavior is not convenient, can bookmarklets be allowed to run?

There is a long discussion about it here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=866522

On the larger scale, because mobile browsers are generally not expandable, users and developers do not participate in their development, and then development does not progress. This is very clear in iOS where browser development has been dis-incentivized by the platform operator. I see javascript and bookmarklets as a resource safe way to develop within the limits imposed by platform operators.
