Is firefox run by crazy people or am I crazy to have fallen for master password?
I do not log out of websites and firefox suggesting a master password sounded okay so I did. I should hae never let my wife use my PC because I was logged out of everything and cannot remember my master password. To retrieve it firefox says I will lose all sorts of logging in dat. This sounds worse than what what master password claimed to avoid. I am madder than mad, so tired of google dogging me and having to register on every web site I look at. firefox was better the explorer once but now I hate it with a passion. I just wanted to use the internet not be invaded by the protectors. Tired of everything becoming obsolete and upgraded and hearing personal information is stolen. I am sick and tired of zuckerburg and zillow and trulia and google and facebook and damn ads following me with small videos on the sides playing crap. I want my master password now and I do not want to lose a single piece of my info doing it you lying ridiculous commies. You are destroying civilization and none of you know how to build a house or fix a car or kill dinner.

Type chrome://pippki/content/resetpassword.xul<Enter> in the address bar.
There is little anyone can do. You need to remember the Master.
In the event that the passwords information is lost, you should record all information in a separate text file somewhere else on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste if you need to do so. If you are concerned about someone else looking at that file, you can compress it using a password.
Bad idea to share a Firefox Profile with other users of that PC. My feeling is that you don't share your under garments with "the wife", so why give her access to your internet activity and user data?
That is what Windows XP Login User Accounts are intended for; each user has their own login, and only see and have access to their own data and browsing history. That includes all Firefox data, as each LUA in WinXP (and newer) has its' own unique Firefox Profile.
As far as forgetting your Master Password ... really - that is Mozilla fault?
