For years I have used Popfile to sort my incoming email messages. I recently decided to abandon Popfile and simply use the message filter ability of Thunderbird. To do that, I set up new accounts in Thunderbird which bypass Popfile,

Now, when I click on "Get Messages", I see the new account names, and also the old (Popfile) names. Also, when messages are downloading, I see the brief messages that there are no messages from these disused accounts.

The disused accounts don't show up in the list of accounts when I click on Tools-Account Settings, so I can't delete them via the "Account Actions" window. I have tried deleting the unwanted accounts from the Profile, but they are restored every time that I open Thunderbird.

Is there any way that I can get rid of these disused accounts?
