New folder (popstate-1.dat) appeared in account window. How to remove?

My setup is Thunderbird Mail 52.5.0 on Linux Mint 18.3 (Cinnamon).

A folder named "popstate-1.dat" is listed under my account after Inbox, Drafts, Sent, Junk and Trash. I noticed this after an improper shutdown of the computer due to a power outage.

Is it safe to simply delete this folder? Thanks for guidance.
